Europe itineraries

What do you think of the Europe itineraries? What are your favorite and least favorite ports and why? I'm trying to decide which one to book.

You mean the new 2014 ones? I love the new ones! We are deciding among all the July departures right now. Big decisions. Afraid of the cost but have been waiting for these cruises for a few years!

Yes, sorry, I do mean the new 2014 itineraries.

What is Greece/Turkey like compared to Spain/France/Italy?

I think the new itineraries look great! I must say, though, that I wish the 9-night was more of a mix between Greece and Italy. Having never been to any of the ports of call DCL will be visiting, I'm looking for some variety. It's funny because I find myself leaning toward the 12-Night Med w/Greece (Itinerary A), which many here find old hat! Maybe that means it will be cheaper than the other itineraries.

We are right now trying to decide between the 12 night that repos from Venice to Barcelona and the 12 night after that. The first one is more "exotic" and has ports that are harder to get to and more easily accessible by water -- the 2nd one has a combination of old and new ports and gives us a chance to visit with friends who live in the south of France and in Italy. I think all the ports are wonderful and will be fantastic to visit. It's more a question of the calendar and how far afield you feel like going, I think.

I'm bummed no Baltic cruise, but we are looking at the June 12 night that hits both Croatia and Greece. Wish it didn't have so many repeat ports from our first Disney Med cruise though.

I'm having difficulty as well! I like the 12 night Venice to Barcelona but I'm not fond of traveling in the middle of summer-everything is so costly! My fiancée wants to do the Barcelona to Venice which is a better time....but I want to see more of Greece! The 9 night Greece looks nice too but I prefer longer cruises! Decisions, decisions....

We were hoping for Baltic as well Since we did the Med in 2010 we have decided to grab the Venice to Barcelona since these are mostly new ports for us.

I'm gathering as many opinions as I can. What did you like best about the Med ports?

Think we're going to pull kids out of last week (3/4 week) of school to take the June 14 itinerary. It's better than the similar one this year because there's more variety in the ports. But would love to do a b2b, unfortunately I'm afraid we may be scraping the bottom of the bank account to be able to even afford the 12-night! Oh well - this really will be the vacation of our dreams though.

I'm not overjoyed with the Europe itineraries. The 12-day Venice to Barcelona is too Greece heavy for me. There are a number of similar ports and 4 sea days. It will be interesting to see the price difference between the 9-day and 12-day VCE to BCN, because I actually think the 9-day is a little better unless one really desires to end in BCN.

Also, the 9-day is sort of an 8.5 day, getting into VCE late. Not really enough time to do anything in VCE, and presumably, since the cruise starts there, you've already spent time there shaking jet lag. I would think this is especially true of the 9-day that starts on a Thursday.

The BCN to VCE cruise is a good one, but not really for anyone who is cruising disney to the Mediterranean this year -- especially if you're doing the VCE cruise this year. It's very similar.

I really like the 12-day roundtrip from Barcelona -- it's good mix to me, although 4 sea days is one too many with so many great stops it could be making. But, of course, if that's your favorite, you can just do it this year.

We were a bit disappointed that there was no baltic. We did an eastern Med. on princess so we have been to most of the greece/turkey/italy/croatia ports. They were fab! but we wanted something a little different. Now with kids we want to stick with Disney since they love the disney cruises and DD already told me that she doesn't want to go on a ship without characters.

We are thinking of the 7 night barcelona and flying in a few days early to enjoy barcelona since we haven't been there.

I am just excited at the possibility of going to Europe again

What do you think of the 7nt. having 2 sea days? When I was checking the Epic, it only has one. I think I prefer one, just because I want to see ports, not spend two days on the ship.
