Who's going next week?

Well I booked a last minute trip for 4 nights next week. Tues-Sat. Anyone else scared as you know what about the crowds?!? I am working on touring plans right now and going by easywdw recommended parks but if the crowd level is an 8 I think no matter what park you pick it is still going to be crazy at times. We are avoiding EMH, don't have hoppers. So who else is crazy as me and going Presidents Day week?

I'm so jealous! Yes it will be busy due to Pres Day, also our schools are on Feb break next week. I wish we were going, the crowds wouldn't bother me too much as long as I know it going in. Have fun!

I'll be there. And I'll be going to Josh's picks each day.
If you go up to the first person at each turnstile and ask them if they're Lauren from the Disboards, you'll find me!

we'll be there for the second year in a row, thinking the crowds won't be as bad bcause Mardi Gras was a week earlier in 2013.

Wow, I hadn't though of that!
While I love the thought of the parks being less crowded than expected, I'd hate for it to be at the expense of the same kids who had to live through that storm!
First your home is destroyed, and then your trip to Disney is ruined? I'd rather have them contributing to the crowds.

Me too. Going with my DDs (9 & 6) and my mom, who hasn't been to WDW in almost 20 years. Hoping the crowds are getting it out of the way now.

Hey I just might do it!! LOL. This is my 8 year old son's first trip and it's just me and him. My husband couldn't get off work, he wasn't too interested in going regardless so I just planned it without him lol... All kidding aside, I tell myself that this will only be beginning and hopefully we will be able to plan a longer trip next summer when all of us can be off work and maybe grandparents and nieces and nephews can come as well.. But for now it's just me & my little man and I know we are going to have a blast. We are staying at POP but will be at the parks 90% of the time. But do you think POP was a good choice for a first time visit for a young boy?

We're flying in the 22nd. The crowd calendars predict quite a drop in numbers after the 23rd.
Make a plan, get to your park for the day early and enjoy!

Here on Long Island about 3/4 of our schools have cancelled February break. I don't know if people would cancel their plans or still go. We are still going even though school is on.

Oh, gosh- didn't mean to sound heartless! I was deployed with my National Guard unit for 45 days after the storm (Westchester, then Staten Island) and just got so accustomed to everyone wanting life to get back to normal-school and all. I was actually thinking that if they gave up this break, they'd be able to get out of school at the regularly scheduled time (late June) and not have to make up the time closer to the summer...

That was so nice of you to think that way. I agree completely. It was very traumatic for our community.....our neighborhood underwater....no power for a week....and then the mayor decides to take away vacation from our kids and teachers. We had over a dozen teachers that completely lost their homes. They had to come back to work and now do not get the time off. We kept our plans.
