RideMax and the changes FP system
Just as a heads up to RideMax customers. While planning for my trip during Presidents week I created my RideMax plans and noticed that even when I did not allow (unchecked the box) for using FastPasses late, the program always made a notation that it was okay to use them late and if it was in the schedule that way don't be alarmed. With the changes to the policy forthcoming..li emailed RideMax to make sure they were aware of the changes and that they intended to modify the program accordingly. This is the response I got...(please note, this is not to start another discussion of the fastpass system but rather for helping with how to plan accordingly going forward)
"Sorry to take so long to respond, but yes, we are keeping an eye on this. Most of the rumors indicate enforcement starting on the 18th, and that's what we're assuming -- for now at least. Because Disneyland does allow late FP currently, I think it's safe to say that many of our FP estimates tend to err on the late side, rather than early (even when you don't have the "use FP late" checkbox on). It has been fairly "safe" to do this until now. With this change by Disney looking more likely, I expect us to be going through our FP estimates next week and "tightening" them up, so I expect that you'll see many return times moved up to earlier in the day. Just to be safe, I also expect that we'll also remove the "late FP" checkbox entirely, hopefully by the middle of next week. As a result of these expected changes, I'd suggest creating your "final" plans as close to your actual visit date as possible. I hope this helps... Have a great trip!" |

Good to hear they're keeping on top of the change if/when forthcoming, and will make adjustments quickly. We've used Ridemax for our last 3 WDW trips and it worked beautifully (even during the dreaded Easter week) and plan to use it for our 1st trip to DL in April. By then, all the FP kinks should be worked out, I hope!

The code is more what you'd call guidelines than actual rules
