Extending? How difficult and how long?

My daughter is in the CP right now until May. How long can you extend and how difficult is it? Sh may want to do it but wants to do a different role. She is QSFB now and would like to try something different.

She needs to watch her email from housing communications because it will tell her when the application to extend is open. She also needs to keep her record card clean. Ideally no points at all. She probably will not get an extension if she has a reprimand and additional points.

On the application you get to choose 5 role options and you rank them by your interest. You can also choose "Same role different location" or "Same role same location" I would make one of those your 5th choice just as a back up. When I applied for an extension I was offered my 3rd choice, but ended up declining the offer.

She should be able to apply to stay until Aug and then sometime in June/July she could apply to extend again until Jan. But I am not entirely sure on that.

I'm curious, if you did Fall, and then went back to school for spring term, would you have a good chance of getting hired for the summer? Do they take the CP into account?

This is a somewhat complicated answer. If we are talking about Fall 2012, then the only way you can work over the summer is if you went seasonal after your program or you apply for seasonal (Which I don't think they are accepting applications for at this time.)

Sometimes a CP Alumni Program is offered that is summer only and includes housing. I did one in 2011 but it was not offered in 2012 or for 2013.
