Jen, trailer camping is the way to go for this princess too... Growing up my parents took us on yearly camping trips to New England.. looking back they are great memories. Miss, Sam would still be in the concert band and will join the Friday Night Football Band... the Marching Band is the competition band and would bring her involvement to another level.... was so hoping she would join for the experience, even if she elects to do just the one year... the music program is terrific at the school and she would form a lot of new friendships. Oh, well it has to be her decision, as it requires a lot of time and energy... so I will keep quiet until she decides...

It was never too crowded on the shuttle but I didn't find the times very convenient ... there was a long break in the afternoon when they stopped running and it seemed like that was when I wanted to come back to the resort for awhile. On the 3rd, yep. Watch your bank account! I almost fell off my chair when I saw the deposit this morning. I had just checked the "Where's My Refund?" and it said by the 21st, checked our bank account for the heck of it and it was there. Crazy.

As a former band geek, this has me interested. So does the Friday Night Football Band march during the half-time show, or do they just play in the stands? Is it the Marching competition band that marches at half time for the football games? Is it one of those things like all Shriners are Masons, but not all Masons are Shriners? Meaning that all of the people in the competition band play in the Friday Night Football Band?

When the head band director (we was at my high school from my sophomore to senior year and he and his wife were like another set of parents to me) left my high school for another, the marching band at the school he went to had different colors than the school colors. The school colors were maroon and white (which happened to be my high school colors), but the band's colors were red and black. For some reason, at some point, someone selling new uniforms to that school convinced a former band director that maroon and white uniforms looked terrible on a marching field and convinced them to purchase red and black.

No education credits....the 2/25 was the general "3 week out" date that they are giving most people...I think Miss said hers was showing for 2/21 but she got it today! So maybe I'll get mine soon, since I only filed a day after her.

Wookie, yes the Friday Night Football band performs at all home games and the competition band (the Marching Knights) are all members. The Knights perform their competition routine at all away games. The band director started the Football band in 2011, probably as a way to offer an alternative for kids who for whatever reason elect not to join the compeition band. Its a great way to peform and feel connected without the full committment.

THe football band does have their own number, nothing elaborate as the compeition band, and their uniforms are the school sweatshirt/jeans. Our Marching Band does wear the school colors of blue and white. Thanks for asking.

That's actually a really good idea. It makes it possible for someone to be able to be in the band, without having the huge marching competition schedule. When I was in school, there were not as many activities as the high school my son is in now has. I graduated with 94 kids in my class and we might have had 500 total in the high school (grades 9 - 12). My senior year, our band had around 124-126 kids in band, but we didn't have a lot of extra curricular activities. There was band, choir, FFA, football, baseball, track, golf, tennis, cross country, and my junior (or maybe it was me senior year) we got girls softball.

I could talk band all day long. I miss it so much!! I hate that neither of my boys enjoyed it as much as my DH and I did. Although the DH did finally give it up for football. One of my bucket list vacations is to go to the DCI finals. I would love that as much as a WDW trip.

True, and yes I am afraid we'll spend the money. As of right now, I have the DH seeing things my way on upgrading to the DlxDDP, and going to MNSSHP. I just need them to release the dates of MNSSHP. Maybe I can just pay a big chunk of it, like everything put the upgrade to the DlxDDP. That way we just have to pay the amount to upgrade when I call to add FD to our ressie. I think I would rather do that than get Disney to refund my money if I pay it off in full.

Ok, another question. I just read the email confirmation about the changes I made. We are going to be there from 9/10-9/14, which is a total of 5 days, and we should have 5 days of MYW tickets. Well I just read on it, and it only has 4 days. It just says "ADMISSION 4D MYW". Should I call tomorrow and have it changed to 5, or should I wait until I call to either have FD added or make a payment to have the additional day added?

If they offer FD do you get the basic DDP with the stay at a Deluxe resort? The reason I'm asking is the DH is tempting me with adding another day to our trip in exchange for us adding a day. I know he's doing this because it is the only way to squeeze a day at DHS into my plans, but it is another day at WDW.

Hi Wookie ... Taking a break at the Y. Yes you get the regular DP (1 TS, 1 CS, 1 snack per day) with the FD offer at mods and deluxes. Do you mean adding another park day and dropping the deluxe DP?

in regards to your park tix question I'd wait to add the day until you add the FD. Disney keeps sending updates every time you make a change.

I actually made it through a day without making a change. I'm glad I got rid of Cl. I may even cancel Universal and just do the beach. This could be my cheapest WDW vacation ever. I have the money, but I have done everything I want to do at WDW. Our September vacation was my dream vacation. I can't top it. Is it Disney burnout? The only thing that gets me excited is the idea of a 7 day cruise on the Fantasy.
