Just curious in the breakdown of ages in the kids' clubs on the Wonder?

My son will be 12 when we sail and is pretty social but doesn't want to be with *little* kids.

What kind of activities do they have for the tween scene? What about the ship in general as far as activities for his age?

Kids club ages for all ships are the same, AFAIK

Oceaneers Club/Lab - 3-12
Edge - 11-14
Vibe - 14-17

It's real important that the kids attend the Open House in the club they are interested in the first night. That's when they talk about what they want to plan in the club (and set up their special cliques)

Thank you! The Edge is where he'll want to be. They have an open house the first night? Will they announce what time? This is good info. I don't know what to ask until I see something. I'm sure ill miss something uber important.

Does this interfere with dinner? What do we do for dinner the first night?

You can review the Navigators linked under staterooms above with your son to let him see activities that are available in the Edge.
The meet the first night is after both dinner seatings.

They will not "announce" what time, but it will be in the Navigator and on the notice board in the Edge. It is usually 10 or 10:30 (so late dinner people can be there). This is the most important time of the whole cruise to go!

We won't miss it. Why is it so important though?

It's when they do the ice breakers and get-to-know-you's. It really helps the kids make friends or at least get to know some faces, so when they go back there are people they recognize. I have read peoples reports about times their kids didn't go to that first night, and then found on subsequent days that groups have already been formed.
They also plan the weeks activities on that first night. The kids decide what they're going to do so it's fun to be involved there. Although the next day when the schedule came out, my daughter said there were a lot of things listed that she can't remember being mentioned! So i'm not sure how much say the kids really have!

Excellent. I'll make sure he attends. Then he'll have a good idea of what's going on and what he wants to participate in if anything.
