Yay! I was wondering when someone would start this thread! I and a group of friends from the dis will be doing this! I did it last year but this will be their first.
I had never run anything before signing up last year! Now I am hooked on the running and really look forward to race events. (Didn't do one in December or January.... So I am anxious for the phm this month!) I hope that since the registration fee is higher for ToT this year it will mean more host resorts. I also hope that there will be a slight discount for registering for the ToT at the phm expo. I know there was for the phm at the ToT.

Count us in!
My DS (14) and I were aiming for a fall Disney race, so either ToT or W&D. Just saw a pretty decent flight deal with JetBlue out of Syracuse so we booked it! So excited!

I will be there. I am also from Canada and I am flying from Manchester,NH. A lot cheaper than flying with Air Canada from Montréal.
I just love the Disney race: I did the marathon last month (it was my first and last marathon). This year, I want to improve my time in the 10k races to be in a better corral. We will see... Now it is football time. Diane |

I am always wanting to do this too! I think anything I can do to get into a slightly better corral starts me sooner, allows me to finish sooner and keeps me just that much further from the sweepers!

First, many races do give instructions on what they think slower folks should do. Disney asks that folks run/walk no more than two abreast. Offering much more could create ill will on course if a runner were not exactly following anything more absolute. The old etiquette (pre-Gallowalker) asked slower folks to stay course center. As stated, this to allow faster runners the tangent. This still holds true if you are running on a track. The rule has morphed to move to the side of the course when slowing. Note this is not a move to the right rule, rather move to either side. When slowing, look ahead and choose the side of the course that will not be the tangent (or inner radius) of a bend. Also, when in a crowded section, leave a runner's width between you and the edge of the roadway. There is a faster line of runners who will run on that edge in an effort to avoid weaving. When slowing, do look around to make sure you do not have a tailgater who will not see you slow and wave a hand to let folks know you are slowing. Really there is no clear rule on what to do and even if announcements were made, many 'offenders' would not think they were aimed at them. This year, Galloway had pace groups competing with the Clif groups in the half and full and these guys were really the worst offenders of slowing where they were, slowing as a group in congested areas and walking more than 2 abreast. Congestion will be a Disney fact of life as courses are being sold to their maximum capacity and 10 mm runners and slower having to deal with the carnage. If one really wants a PR race for better placement at Disney, look to a smaller local race. Run Disney to have a great time.

Villian Bash
Thinking about doing the Villain Bash after the race, how is it? Does it get really crowded? Since I am signing up for the race, I don't have to pay for it but someone who isn't running has to buy the ticket, correct?

Correct. I didn't find it to be overly crowded, but I did finish the race pretty late...

I am staying at BWV and was wondering if it's not a host resort, can I walk over to the start by taking the path to HS?
