New to the Fort

We are heading down in 11 days for our first trip to the Fort. We will be tent camping and have a golf cart. We are a family of six (2 adults, kids ages 12,9,5, and 4). We have been to Disney many many times and are looking for a new family adventure!! Maybe you can help me with a few questions.

1. Which tent loop should we request with kids?

2. Our kids tent to be louder, will that be a problem with the other campers (i don't want to be constantly getting on to the kids about being to loud)

3. How is the weather at night during Feb? Will we need a heater?

4. We are early risers and plan to head to parks early, how early do the buses and boats start?

5. Do you recommend driving to the parks?

Much thanks from a camping newbie!!

Nicole,

What type of campsite did you reserve? A Partial (tent/popup) or Full or Preferred? Since you said "tent loop" is that a Partial? You can put a tent on the coquina pad of any of those three types I mentioned.

Bama ED

PS - Here is the weather forecast for Disney this month. If you're arriving around the 17th it looks like it will be very nice and comfortable for camping in a tent.

1500 would be closer to the pool, 2000 is further away. With a golf cart either would work. I tend to like 1500 better.

I would bring a heater and a fan, you just never know.

Again, since you have a golf cart and will not be using the internal bus system, I'd use WDW transportation.

Have a magical trip.

A little bit of a change in plans, we are now renting a pop-up. But pretty much all the same questions apply. This is our first time camping so any information will be great. Thank you!

I'd stick with 1500.

Question Also first timer with question

We are going to the Fort for the first time in October. We will not be including tickets as we already have them. Will we get free parking at the parks? How does this work?

Yes...for every day you are registered at the Fort, you can park at the parks for free.

The Teacher is correct as you would expect.

More specifically,

when you check in and get several sheets of paper, one of those sheets will be a parking pass to put on your car dashboard (driver's side is where I put mine).

Your key card you receive (you can put your tickets on it too) will open the gate to get into the Fort. But the parking pass on your dash is what will get you into the theme park parking lots for free. Once you get close enough, the Parking CM will see your pass on the dash and wave you on through.

Staying at the Fort, we drive to all the WDW parks except MK where we take the boat. I don't have anything against the busses; it's more a question of leaving whenever you want (and getting back whenever you want).

Have fun!
