Question Fort Wilderness - Trick-o-Treating

I'm sure this has been asked 1001 times on here, but I couldn't find it...

We will be in DisneyWorld on Halloween this year. From what I've heard, they no longer allow trick-o-treating in DtD (thank goodness because I'm sure that was a nightmare!!) but I've heard that kids can trick-o-treat at the RVs at Fort Wilderness. Can someone please confirm this?
I know people go nuts decorating their RVs for Christmas, and lots of people from other resorts come and walk around there and see what they have put up, but I've never really heard much about Halloween.

So will there be a lot of people trick-o-treating at the RVs on Halloween, and is it welcomed by most/all of the people staying there, or is it frowned upon? What about just walking around to see the decorations - Do people decorate as much as they do for Christmas?

TIA!

We'll be at the Fort on Halloween, so I'm curious as well.

Yes, there is Trick o Treating at The Fort.

Yes, there will be a lot of people doing it. It is very popular and a busy time there. I'd say people go all out as much for Halloween as Christmas decorating. And they love to show it off.

You don't knock on peoples RV's. They are asked to set up tables in front of their site with the candy if they want to participate.

Your kiddos will have a blast.

halloween falls on a friday for 2014 and then a saturday 2015. For those long range planners (like me) this would be an awesome halloween plan for the kids.

Someone just told me that you are only allowed to do it if you are staying at Fort Wilderness. We are staying at AoA - So are we out of luck?

We will also be there this year for Halloween. As I understand it trick-or-treat is allowed only for Fort residents. They post CMs at the entrance to the loops and check cards after a certain time in the evening. This is due to campers being overwhelmed in the past by locals and such coming in to participate.
