4 night Bahamas cruise in AUGUST

Please tell me I'm not making a mistake cruising in August due to the weather threat. I would love to hear from anyone who has gone in August and had no problems. Thanks

No worries. We have done four cruises at the end of August and only run into one hurricane

I've cruised in August and plan to do it again. No problem with the weather. Afternoon showers but that did not stop us from having a wonderful time.

We had one hurricane during part of our B2B August cruise in 2011, but it only really affected us for about half a day as they sailed away from it. On our first August cruise in 2010, the ocean was so smooth it was unbelievable. Don't worry, you will enjoy your August cruise even if the weather isn't perfect.

DW insisted on doing a land/sea vacation over her 40th birthday. That was back in 2004. We got it in; between two hurricanes. It was a sea of blue tarps on the roofs as we were flying into Orlando. You could see the damage traveling to WDW but WDW did a great job cleaning up. That is the year we stayed at the Poly.

While there is NO WAY to predict if there will be a hurricane during the time frame you sail there is one thing that is guaranteed, it will be HOT and HUMID. This is why we will probably never sail in August again. We'll stick to late fall/early winter.
