Cozumel ruins & beach tour question - The DIS Discussion Forums

Just wondering if anyone knows the name of the beach club used for this excursion and if they have parasailing. Also has anyone did this excursion? If so, how was it? Thanx!

We are doing this excursion on our cruise. We leave 2/16/13. Cozumel Thursday of cruise. Not sure when your going but I can let you know about it when we get back Saturday 2/23/13

We did this excursion in January.....the beach resort is Playa Mia (I think) but we only had 1.5 hours there, we were hungry so ordered lunch (was yucky) and it ate up almost one hour of our time, so we didn't get to enjoy the resort :-(

Thanks glad I got this before our cruise. How was the ruins part of the excursion. You can do the ruins without the beach also.

Was just curious how the excursion was

I have it booked for now but was checking into parasailing or something along those lines if this didnt seem to work for our family.

Just did this excursion on or our trip.This excursion was ok for someone seeing the ruins for first time they are the local ruins on the island. If you saw the other ruins on the mainland or the Costa Maya ruins excursion you will be disappointed with these they are a lot smaller. You still hear about the history and culture of the Mayans which is still interesting. The beach I think was Playa Mia you got an hour and a half then back on the bus. The beach was nice, didn't eat here because of my wife's food allergy. You got a free drink ticket alcoholic or non you had to pay for the food.The food did not look appetizing. If I had to do this over again I would have done the ruins in Costa Maya then taken a taxi to this beach or maybe another. It is actually a beach club kind of place if you went there on your own I'm pretty sure you would have to pay to use it.Their are taxis sitting out front when you want to leave. The beach itself was kind of nice.
