DCL Transportation First-Timer
This is our second DCL cruise on the Dream but the first time using DCL transportation from WDW to the port. (We'll be at Bay Lake Tower for 5 days prior to cruise.) It's just two of us, so it was cost-effective to use DCL transportation.
How does that work, similar to Magical Express where they give you a pickup time and you just show up in the lobby around that time? We are also taking DCL transportation to MCO afterward -- do they do airline flight and luggage check-in on the ship? TIA!

We just stayed at Bay Lake Tower January 9th to the 10th and took the DCL transportation from there to the port. If is very easy, your luggage will be picked up around 8-8:30am then you will meet in the lobby around 11:00am to show your transportation documents and they check you off their list. The bus is parked out front and we departed around 11:25 arriivng at the port around 12:30. We did not use the airline check in on departure but I believe it is available after you get your bags from customs right outside the terminal...have fun!

Onboard airline check-in means you get your boarding passes delivered to your stateroom. Your luggage will be picked up at your stateroom on the last night of your cruise and the next time you see it will be at your home-town airport. If you're flying on a non-participating airline you can still take a DCL bus to the MCO airport but you'll have to claim your luggage and take it to the bus (with help from a porter if you want.) Copy/pasted from the FAQ sticky note: When you register for Onboard Airline Check-In, you are entitled to: Receive your boarding passes and check your luggage for your return flight before you disembark the ship Skip luggage claim at the port terminal Bypass the airline check-in counter at the airport Here's how it works: Reserve air or ground transportation through Disney Cruise Line® and sign up for Onboard Airline Check-In when you check in for your cruise at the port or a Walt Disney World® Resort Hospitality Desk. On the day prior to disembarkation, your airline boarding passes and valet luggage tags will magically be delivered to your stateroom, along with a letter answering common questions you may have. Attach the tags to your luggage and leave your bags outside your stateroom the evening prior to disembarkation. Disney Cruise Line® will collect and deliver your luggage to your airline. When you arrive at Orlando International Airport, proceed to security with your boarding passes already in hand and continue on to your scheduled departure gate. It's that simple! Available to Guests flying out of Orlando International Airport on domestic flights (including Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands) on AirTran Airways, Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Continental Airlines, Delta Air Lines, JetBlue Airways, Northwest Airlines, United/Ted Airlines and US Airways it's the perfect ending to a magical cruise vacation! Pre-registration is required and scheduled flights must be after 11:25 a.m. on the day your cruise ends. Guests are limited to two bags per person and each piece must not exceed 50 lbs. Additionally, some Guests may be selected to check in at the airport and unable to use this service. |

Thank you so much. Getting to the ship by 12:30 is fine -- hopefully we'll miss the major rush to board the ship.
We're flying JetBlue, so it looks like we'll be able to do the airline check-in at the port. Sounds so easy!!!
