I understand the CG is closed for renovations, true? We're going in Oct, and if the CG is still closed when the 6 month reservation window opens will Disney accept ADRs at that point?

Yes, California Grill is closed until August 31st for renovations (according to the Disney site). I would guess that they'll start taking reservations for any date after that when the 180 day rolls around. Bistro/Monsieur Paul allowed folks to make reservations while they were closed, so hopefully CG will be the same.
