We ate there with our 5 year old DGS in June. He loved the characters, the music, waving his napkin around and the general atmosphere. The service and character interaction was very good. Now for the food . . . We live near CT and Atlantic City casinos and frequent their outstanding buffets. Do not expect the same at Chef Mickeys! The food is just average by comparison. However,
you are paying for the whole experience and is worth the visit. We would go again. You won't get to see Donald Duck at Mohegan Sun!

We had dinner there twice last week....once planned, once walk-in/unplanned...we have been many times in the past as well..

We enjoyed the food and the experience both nights. We are a family of 4 - 2 kids ages 2 and 6.

We enjoyed the food we ate - the scalloped potatoes were amazing both nights..and the mashed potatoes were very good too...I enjoyed the pasta dish both nights (it was a creamy cheese sauce with chicken one night and a shrimp and scallop puttanesca sauce another) and the ham....

The kids enjoyed trying some of the grownup food, loved having a salad, and really liked a fall back of pizza after they did their experimenting but were still hungry..

We were on the meal plan which made it affordable for us to go...not sure we would pick it if we were not on the DDP...

Desert has declined...we miss the days of the old ice cream sundaes with the tubes filled with candies...fake M&Ms and reeses are not the same...

Characters except goofy were at our table for a long time and really hung around long enough to make sure that our kids got a chance to warm up to them and interact....Goofy for the last 2 years has been very fast when visiting and my 2 year old is rarely ready to interact with him in time...

I liked Chef Mickeys. It's just a noisy buffet, nothing overly exciting as far as food quality goes. But it was better than a Golden Coral. Nothing was bad for us. The Mickey waffles were my favorite. It's just not good enough for the price (but like I said, none of them are in my humble opinion).

We had a nice time and the family liked the characters. I'm glad we did it once but wouldn't go out of my way to do it all the time. I may do it again one day...if the kids want to.

You'll have a good time.
absolutely...love Liberty Tree Tavern for dinner, Crystal Palace for breakfast...ditto for Tucker House for breakfast...as expensive as it is walked out of CRT feeling it was well worth the money...

chef mickey's character breakfast

At our last visit we did not book a character breakfast. But once there decided it wouldn't be a disney trip without one. When I tried to book chef mickey was competely full. But the cast member told us to head over before 8am before the first seating. low and behold we were able to get a table. The buffet was excellant, maybe because it was just put out. It is a typical character breakfast the characters visit each table. Overall we were very pleased.

The DDP dragged it down to mass-produced, over-priced slop. I always scratch my head when people on the DDP comment, "I'm glad I didn't pay for that." So you wouldn't go if you had to pay oop but you will on the dining plan? There you have it...

DH and I at there for breakfast in Oct and thought it was really good. The breakfast pizza was my favorite. We had a terrible waitress and that sort of tainted the trip, but the food and characters were great.

We are going to try it for dinner this trip.

For a first trip I say do it! The food is mediocre at best. Some items are better than others. For example, I thought the eggs were horrible! However, the characters are big ones, their interaction is fabulous, the atmosphere is fun and the service was amazing! So mediocre food is not nearly as important as the rest of those things as my kids loved it because of the characters, not because of the food. I had high expectations, but with realistic ones it's an enjoyable experience.

I recommend giving it a try. We had a good experience at Chef Mickey's on our last trip and it was one of the highlights of our trip. It was our family's first WDW vacation and my kids were so excited to eat here. We did a late breakfast ADR and the food was fresh, hot, and plentiful; and we thought the character interaction was good too. We did not find the atmosphere any more loud or busy than any other place we ate at during our trip. I think it is a great character meal, especially for a first trip since you will get to meet a lot of characters (Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Donald, and Goofy). It seems that people have more good things to say about the breakfast here than the dinner though. Before the implementation of the credit card guarantee policy, it was nearly impossible to get a reservation here unless you booked right at the 180 day mark.

We love Chef Mickey's for breakfast. We go every trip.

If you make your reservation for the last of the morning, you get a lot of personal time with the characters. The restaurant empties out and the characters take a lot of time with you.

The food is good, but nothing outstanding.
