Thinking of booking a Two Porthole Windows with Seating Stateroom. Reviews please
We want to go back on the Fantasy next year, but wanted to save some money. Last time we had a verandah (stateroom 8108) and loved it. It will be me, DH, DD7 and DD2. Based on the only picture there is of the two porthole windows sateroom on the disney cruise line page the room looks huge. Any thoughts are appreciated, thanks!

Hi there,
If you mean a cat 8A on one of the new ships, that is what we just returned from sailing in... Loved the room, we were in 5022 and rebooked for next year to be in 5522 ( room change because our room was already booked for next year!) Our previous cruise we had a balcony room with veranda, the one thing that I will say about portholes as opposed to veranda this time was that I missed being able to be outside but in my room pulling in to port and after the kids went to sleep. The enormous closet space, spacious sitting areas (and the kids loved sitting in the padded portholes) more than compensated for the open air feeling however! Hope that helps, |

I always thought those rooms looked HUGE too. I would love to book one of them on our next cruise...

I had one that was handicap accessible and all the way aft. While it was huge, I hated every minute of it. Loud from the thrusters, clanging from the flag pole in the back, and crew members walking up and down the railing/deck 1 deck above.
When the thrusters were on the ceiling panel directly above my bed fell off from how bad the bed/room was vibrating. I had to stand up on the bed and slam it back in. It was only a 3 night cruise so I didn't bother complaining...packing up to change rooms would have taken me 4 hours so there was no point. Even with earplugs on the last night I slept only about 3 hours from all that noise. Thank goodness we got into port early at 2am. That's when I finally could get some rest. I nearly cried with relief when we got off the ship.

I would be very worried if a ceiling panel directly above the bed fell off!!!! What if it fell on you?

We have stayed in catagory 8a rooms 5018 and 5520 on our last two cruises. There are 12 of these rooms availble on the Dream/Fantasy, 6 on deck 5 and 6 on deck six. They are very big, the best rooms we have had on any of or 11 Disney Cruises.
