CC guarantee & number of guests
I think I know the answer to this, but I thought I'd double check with the experts. We have a dinner ressie at BOG one night during our wedding trip. Since I have no idea who we'll be touring with on that particular day and who might want to eat at BOG, I made the ressie for 14. I don't think I'll really know an accurate guest count until we get to FL. Is it okay to show up with fewer people than originally specified and not get charged the cancellation fee?

ADR "NO-SHOW" CANCELLATION FEES:
1) The rule says you are charged $10 per person for "no-show" ADR's. . . . penalty applies when none of the party appears for the ADR . . . penalty does not apply as long as some guests in party appear . . . character meals and signature meals usually have these penalties . . . other meals that request a credit card hold may include a penalty fee 2) The "no-show" penalty procedure . . . podium person lists ADR as no-show (checks "On Hold" box in computer) . . . usually after 30-minutes tardiness you are marked as a "no-show" . . . once listed as "no-show", your name and number of your guests are listed . . . the computer is reviewed by a manager at the end of the day . . . the eatery manager SOLELY determines whether or not to charge you . . . if charged, the cost penalty is on your credit/debit card 3) Exceptions - policy . . . penalty is not assessed for cancellations made the day before ADR . . . for some meals, a different 24-48 hour cancel period may be in effect 4) Exceptions - not policy, but at manager's discretion . . . cancellations for lunch/dinner made early in the same day . . . you come to the eatery ANYTIME during the same day and apologize . . . a few minutes tardy, podium person usually will not denote "On Hold" 5) Trial Period . . . this was done on a trial-basis for 4-weeks in Epcot . . . cut down no-shows by over 75% at Epcot eateries . . . Le Cellier cut daily no-shows to 1-page from 2-3 pages . . . now a policy, as no-shows greatly can reduce eatery revenue . . . a no-show takes a ressie someone else might have kept NOTE: During busy periods, there might be no grace period and late-is-late, and they might even cancel your ADR. However, whether the ADR was canceled due to tardiness or not, it does not affect the application of the penalty fee. For the "no-show" fee at other eateries, you could show for dinner with a breakfast ADR and not be tardy or a "no-show". In fact, at two eateries I know, you are at the front of the line for the next table even when you are late, whether late by 15-minutes or 5-hours. NOTE2: No-Show $10 Penalties (not incl pre-pay shows/meals) • 1900 Park Fare • Akershus Royal Banquet Hall • Artist Point • California Grill • Cape May Café • Chef Mickey’s • Cítricos • Crystal Palace • Flying Fish • The Garden Grill• Hollywood & Vine • Jiko • Le Cellier • Narcoossee’s • ‘Ohana • Tusker House • Brown Derby • Yachtsman • Be Our Guest (dinner) |

I really hope the podium person is more accurate than the phone CMs
We have had more than one instance where we have less diners than the ADR was made for- whether it be because one person was ill, or friends did not join us, etc. I definetly see the possibility of that happening again, so I hope Rusty is 200% correct, and that the people working the podium are as educated in that policy as he is....

Apparently a lot of persons are being told by call center CMs that if anyone on the reservation doesn't show up there will be a charge.
This is not what Disney's website says. It's linked above and is very clear that if any party member honors the reservation there will be no charge. Reservations at prepaid locations (CRT or dinner shows) may be different but that shouldn't include BOG. If I were worried about it I would print that page before leaving so you have it to show to the restaurant manager or guest services or whoever. Print it right before you leave so it has a recent date on the printout. If that language is not on the new site then you won't have any kind of rebuttal handy.
