Character meals for a single adult

I am thinking about doing a character meal (possibly Breakfast Chef Mickey's) to celebrate my 35th birthday on one day of my trip in a month. Is there any stigma for a single adult doing a character meal? Is Chef Mickey's worth the OOP cost for a single person (Better quality than the $5 pancakes at Bob Evans for example)? One of my traditions is a picture with Mickey somewhere on site (last time it was Sorcerer Mickey at DHS) and wanted to try a character meal once.
Four trips when I was a kid.
Christmas 1987,91 and 93 Off Site in Kissimmee and on I-Drive
Christmas 1989 CBR
June 2011 Off Site

March 2013 All Star Sports
July 2014 Dis Exclusive ABD Backstage Magic

Maybe March 2015 trip to Universal Orlando (Going to the Dark Side maybe).

I've done character meals solo - usually at CRT, but other places as well - and everyone is always very friendly and accommodating. If they're snickering behind my back, let 'em.

The Chef Mickey's breakfast used to have really good food. I don't think it's nearly as good now.

If you're looking for something on the monorail line, I just had breakfast at 1900 yesterday, and really liked both the food and the interaction. No Mickey, though - it was Pooh, Tigger, Alice, the Hatter, and Mary Poppins. (An eclectic mix of British children's tales, which fits in well with the Victorian surroundings.) So that would not work if the only purpose of the meal is a new Mickey photo.

I have traveled solo before and had a blast, and although I've never done Disney solo before, I wouldn't hesitate to do so. I'd definitely go to all the character meals I wanted to while there.

I think Chef Mickey's would be fun for you, or Cape May Cafe, Tusker House, etc..

A great place for a solo diner is Tutto Gusto.

Enjoy it. The food is great. The characters are fun! Bring a camera & the wait staff can take your picture. You will love the excitement & happiness. I loved watching the reactions of the kids when the characters came around.

Three adults and no children are going to Tusker House in April and I am excited to go. Chef Mickey's is another one I want to do also. Let them say stuff behind your back, when you are at Disney it's ok to be like a kid and have fun.

I've never been to Chef Mickey's but I understand it's a buffet so really, how can you go wrong?! To heck with any "stigma" some folks may or may not have, it's your vacation and if it makes you happy - do it! I love when I see adults enjoying Disney because it reminds me that I'm not too old and to loosen up a bit. I will definitely, for many years to come, continue to take pictures with my favourite characters! Solo if need be

I've gone on several solo Disney trips. My next is Mar 6-12
I love character meals!

I've done a bunch of them solo...
Chef Mickey's, 1900 Park Faire Dinner, Crystal Palace,
Cape May Cafe breakfast, CRT, Tusker House breakfast, Ohana.

Most Character meals with Mickey are buffets except O'hana & Garden Grill
(served family style at your table)

(If your specifically looking to get Mickey in a different outfit...

~Mickey's Backyard BBQ the characters wear country western attire. (dinner)
~Chef Mickey's the characters wear Chef attire. (breakfast & supper)
~Tusker House in AK the characters wear Safari clothes. (breakfast & lunch)
~O'hana they characters wear Hawaiian attire. (breakfast only)
~Cape May Cafe the characters wear beach clothes. (breakfast only)
~Garden Grill in Epcot characters wear Farmer clothes. (dinner only)

Absolutely nothing wrong with an adult going solo for character meals!

Chef Mickey's & O'hana are really difficult to get into. Both are very popular.

Whichever you choose hope you have a great time!

Have you thought about Garden Grill?

I've not been there myself but have heard good things about it. I've been told that the food is better there than at some of the character meal buffets. Also, isn't that the restaurant that rotates? It might be more visually appealing to a solo diner.

If I were by myself, I'd have no qualms about trying that one out.

Have fun on your trip!!
