Thanks all! I wish they did the 5 night from Port Canaveral. I really don't want to do another cruise line but 4 night is not enough and 7 is too costly....

For those that have travelled with young kids- which ports are their fave?

I see the plusses to both room set ups. Having the balcony would be so super awesome but so would separate spaces.....

Good thing is we aren't going until 2015.

When we book through DVC- if prices drop, do we get credit?

Is it best to book as soon as they come out or wait until last minute, in case they do kids free like they are doing now?

I have yet to find it cheaper to get 2 rooms instead of the family stateroom. I checked on the price for 2 inside rooms versus the deluxe oceanview family stateroom and it was over a thousand dollars more. It's like paying for 4 adults instead of 2 adults and 2 children. I have not checked on the classic ships or during the "off" season so it may be different. But for us on the Fantasy in May, it is better to get the cat 8 instead of 2 insides.

You would be paying for 4 adults, that's why. Each stateroom has to have 2 full paying people ... Not necessarily adults, but they will be charged adult fare. I think the better deal is to have 3 children ... Something you may not want to do!!!

It's really not a good use of your points for DCL .. Much better normally to rent your points out and pay cash for the cruise. Have you thought about that option?

Yes, we have....I finally called DVC yesterday to figure out the points/vs cash difference.

498 points for a 4 night cruise! Crazy! If we do end up doing, I am going to wait and see if they reconfigure some of their routes...

I think for that amount of dough- we are going to do California first!

Many rent the points and use that towards the cruise instead...
