I've read through the whole thread (lots of info--thanks everyone!), but I didn't see the answer to a PP 's question: how long can you stay after the fireworks are over?

I haven't stayed to the very end, but have stayed for a little while after the party was over. I'm guessing that if MK is open much later than the ending of the party, you can stay there and relax. After the fireworks, the party is pretty much over.

We stayed an hour after. Didn't want to battle the crowd to the buses.

Hello all -

Just came back from a great trip with my DH and my parents, and we 4 adults did the dessert party on Sunday January 27th at 7 PM. We were able to get these tickets a few days prior during our first day or so at WDW at the Boardwalk Concierge (where we stayed).

I wanted to leave a little review because, in general, I love Disney and have done the dessert party before and was really looking forward to it. Last time it was just my parents and I (didn't have a DH yet), and it was probably 3-4 years ago and the dessert party was pretty new. Back then, there was perhaps a total of 50 people and it felt like a very special experience and at $50ish a person seemed a reasonable fee for what was a nice special time.

Well NOW word has clearly gotten out, and they max out the seating at over 100 people, and the desserts, for some completely odd reason, where moved to a small corner that was very difficult for crowds to get in and out of. Previously the desserts were an area behind the seating where it was easy for everyone to access.

The food was just as good. The fireworks as amazing as always. Yes, everyone moves up to the railing so it doesn't matter where you are sitting. But really, with SO MANY people was just wasn't special anymore. And with the incredibly poor floor of traffic it wasn't a fun experience anymore either. And for some reason they decided to add ice cream to the dessert mix which I think was a really bad, messy idea.

I really hate to say this, but we will not be going back and I would urge anyone - especially of you are NOT traveling with kids - to forgo this experience. Truly, it is no longer worth it.

Sorry you had such a bad experience. I personally like it better now as opposed to before. I never felt it was crowded even with the added people. So I guess its all in how you view things.. I can't wait to go in April and again in August!! The ice cream was a great added plus for us

Sorry to hear that, OregonGirl. We went a few years ago as well, and though the experience was truly Disney magical. But now I don't know if would enjoy the party.
