If you stayed in a CL room on the fifth floor before they were converted to DVC, then the room was bigger--a deluxe room.

A good way to get a feeling about what is available at the resort stores is the "grocery order form" for DVC (on the DVC website it can be found under "Vacation Planning" -> "Plan Things To Do" -> "Grocery Order"

This link should lead you directly to the form, not sure whether it is visible if you aren't logged into the website. As I understand it, this is about the same as what you can buy at the shop to very similar prices.

Can anyone tell me how effecient the "breakfast" buses are at AKL? We'll be there for our 1st stay May 28th-June 5th and we have an 8:05 ADR for Crystal Palace.
Don"t want to be late so I thought I would check with the AKL veterans!!! What time should we be at the bus stop?

They claim they come every 20 minutes, then you have to board & get to the park. I'd plan for an hour to be safe.

So excited!! - we just booked a return trip to AKV for the F&W 1/2 marathon (DH) and Jungle Jingle 5K (first run ever for me and DGrD(9)). 11/7 - 11/11 1BR Jambo House

Our DVC stays at AKV have all been at either Kidani or up on Club level. Are the regular Jambo DVC rooms all on the 5th floor or are some on the 4th floor?? MS CM just told me 4th floor, but I'm not sure- don't remember if CL is 5th or 6th.

Congrats on the reservation!

All non-Club Level DVC rooms (studios, 1- and 2-bedrooms) are on the 5th floor. The only DVC Club Level rooms are on the 6th floor (and as we all know, there aren't many of them! )

Thanks! that's what I thought - 5th floor is higher than I like to be on the savannah - but I really want to be back at Jambo this trip to be closer to the restaurants. So MS CM told me 4th and 5th floors were DVC and I said request 4th floor - LOL - I wonder where they'll put me.

I think the value villas might actually be 4th floor. If I remember correctly those two trails are one story shorter.

The Value villas I've stayed in are on Ostrich and Giraffe Trails (pool or savannah view) on the 5th floor. There are no DVC units on the 4th floor -- I'm sure of that!

We have stayed in a value on the Giraffe trail on the 5th floor also.

Here are the Jambo "Value" Villas I have stayed in. My first Value stay was in Sept 2008; most recent in October 2012:

5020 - Value Studio (pool view, Giraffe Trail)
5112 (twice!) - Value Studio (savannah view, Ostrich Trail)
5006 - Value Studio (roof/pool view, Giraffe Trail)
5016 - Value Studio (obstructed pool view, Giraffe Trail)

5030 - Value 1-bedroom (obstructed pool view, end of Giraffe Trail)
5004 - Value 1-bedroom (roof/pool view, Giraffe Trail)
