upgrading at port

We are booked in a v family concierge stateroom with verandah. some crazy things have happened today meaning my husband can't take that week off. just can't. So looking over options we've decided I will go with our 3 year old and we've invited a close friend of Evan's (our 3 year old) and her mom. I'd love to have more space given the group. I can't upgrade right now, looks booked. I realize that it could stay that way and we may not be able to upgrade in port. Assuming we are able to....anyone upgraded from a cat v to cat t at port? what did you pay if you don't mind my asking? thanks for any help!

We are also in a Cat V. The suites have been sold out since last spring and we are on a waiting list. We are past the PIF date, so I'm not very hopeful.

Good luck!

I would love to upgrade from our Cat V as well. I have a feeling that you are right and that we will be SOL.

I've seen T's open up after PIF on the Fantasy a few times. Check every other day.
My guess at $ from V to T at PC for Fantasy is $1 - 1.5K.
It appears to me port upgrades are more $ than years past.
Good Luck

Im so sorry your hubby can not go with you. I can not even think of how hard that will be for your little one.

Is there anyway it can be arranged for him to go, and take this family cruise?

One thing about the concierge rooms on the new ships is that you have the lounge and sundeck as extensions of your room. We actually spent a lot of time in there cause DD loved the activities in there. So even though the stateroom isn't big you have other areas to enjoy.

I am kicking myself. HARD. we were originally booked in a t class but switched to v thinking with just the 3 of us the savings was worth it. not my smartest move

my husband is pretty much the BEST. we will miss him horribly That being said we travel without him often. It is not my fave thing to do but I appreciate his hard work and desire for me to take our son all over the place. He encourages me to travel without him simply because he just can't.

We were able to upgrade from a V to a T on a 4 day Dream cruise for $400 total for 2 adults and 3 kids. The other cruisers just didn't show up so we got their room. A lot of people were trying to upgrade to that room, but since we were already in concierge, we had priority. We asked when we checked in and they said they were sold out. But when we got to the concierge lounge we asked again and they said that there was one available. Just let the concierge onboard know that you want to upgrade if something becomes available and you will get priority. Good luck!!! Hope that helps!

I have one of those good guys too! Thankfully, after 30 years, he "making" time to vacation. Life is short and unpredictable, don't let it pass you by.
