Rope Drop at International Gateway
So have they really changed the way they handle rope drop at the International Gateway?
Last trip (Aug'12) we stay at VWL so we didn't enter Epcot that way. But the trip before (Christmas'11) we did and it was infuriating. They had us all bottled up & didn't even open the bag check until after 9am. I couldn't believe it when it happened again at EMH causing us to miss the whole point of getting uo an hour earlier. It was so hard to shake it off & have fun anyway. Just want to know what to expect for our trip in 2 weeks.

I am curious on this too. We are having portraits done and we are supposed to meet our photographer at 9am just inside the gate at IG. They said not to go to the front entrance of Epcot because we will waste part of our allotted 1 hour navigating through the park.

We did the same thing and got to EPCOT main gate early, and walked over to France where we were having our photo shoot done. No issues. We had to wait on the bridge by France and walk over with the photographer. Hope your guy/gal pays more attention to set up and shoot locations...we had ten people, one photographer, and a helper...the helper was useless, and with four young children in the group brought nothing to help with the shoot

Every time for us including last summer they had the ticket and security open early and once though we waited up by the bridge to be let in

The last time we were (a few weeks ago) we went through the gates and it was EMH, without any delays. What I've also heard through the blogs is the bakery is going to be open in the morning so I don't know what happens to that area where they had roped off previously until 11.

Yes, according to the times guide last week, the bakery in France (moved into an enlarged area where the movie exits) opened at 9am.
