Question Castaway Club Questions

Does anyone know if the gift for the Gold Castaway Club member is the same as the Silver member? Does anyone know what the current gift is for the Gold member? This will be our first cruise at that level. We are super excited!
Thanks!

All levels receive the basic gift: backpack, Chip N Dale snacks, keyring. I'm not sure what additional stuff Gold gets, as on our Hawaii cruise, I don't think we got what the usual Gold stuff is. We got a fold-out book for holding pictures that can be hung up open making a large picture frame. That's all I can remember. I think the usualy Gold gift is some sort of journal and note cards. Maybe a luggage strap.

Just back Saturday from my first "gold" cruise. We received the backpack, bag of snacks, key ring, a stationary set (cards, envelopes, pen) and a strap thing that looks like a lanyard that I don't know what it is for!

We also were invited to a captain's meet and greet and you get 10% off the majority of onboard merch

The "strap thing" is a luggage strap that you can put around your suitcase makes it easier to identify and keep your suitcase together. We really like them. Gold also gets stationary when we were on in Sept. we also got a portfolio that you can use to carry travel documents.

The "big" gold things are the invitation to the reception and the 10% off in the shops. You also get a few additional goodies in the room--typically the luggage strap, note cards, and travel document wallet.

I'm bummed! I know we didn't get the luggage strap, or a document wallet on our Hawaii cruise. As I said, I'm not sure about the note cards.

No more document wallet - they changed the gift literally right before we sailed as Gold CC members for the first time. That was the one I was really looking forward to, but beggars can't be choosers

And, to add insult to injury, there are some on eBay from time to time, but of course, they are exorbitantly priced.....

The Gold gift on the Dream last week was notecards, luggage strap and journal as well as the 10% discount and invitation to Captain's reception if you are on a four nighter or longer. For the three nighter we didn't get the Captain's Reception invite.

My DH loves that luggage strap! When we first received it, he was like . And then we purchased DCL artwork and carried it off the ship (we were driving). Anyway, he used that luggage strap to strap it to the back of his scooter and literally drove the artwork right off the boat. Now he always packs it on the off chance that they change the Gold gift and he doesn't receive it.

Its right on your KTTW. The very first time we didn't receive it but then received it the next time. CM told us to bring back the receipt and he would cancel out the order and re-do it with the discount!! Just check when you are checking out. They are usually pretty good with it.

Hello,

Can you please tell me what time of day and which day the Captain's reception was held? Also, were you on a 7 night cruise and which ship? I am going on the 7 night Eastern Caribbean on the Fantasy in 2 weeks and I am trying to find out when the Captain's Reception is so I don't miss it because is is not listed in any of the Navigators that recent cruisers on the Fantasy have posted. Thank you.

In our experience they will look for the status on the card, and mention it verbally to you so that you know they will be giving you the 10% off. However it is a manual process that the cashier must enter as opposed to an automatic discount when the card is swiped. So, it never hurts to make sure they are aware, if they don't mention it to you.

It has been different days and times on the cruises we've been on (or seems to have been). On our last cruise it was the first sea day morning but it has also been at 4 pm in the middle of the cruise. You will get a notice in your stateroom with the date and time.

Also a note on the 10% discount; it does not apply on Castaway Cay.
