I discovered yet another disadvantage of getting up at 0430 - schools don't announce delays until 0500
. No sleeping in today for me, but DD is happily snoozin'...Quote:

Are there any STD rooms off the lobby? I thought that the STD (non Club Level) rooms either overlook the service area in the North Wing or the bus stop/VWL area in the South Wing. The top North Wing rooms have a partial Wishes view though and lots of woods when looking straight out and the Otter Pond and more woods are to the right of the balcony and the parking lot area is to the left - just the opposite for the South Wing. Here are some North Wing photos of the STD room location: ![]() ![]() ![]() Done! It's official now! Are you doing MNSSHP?

I have also heard about the rooms directly over WCC being standard view, but the map shows them as Woods view. Our approach for next time is to book a standard view and request open to lobby. We'll see how it goes.

If you are ever looking for a specific recipe, please let us know at info@magically-speaking.com. While we can't find every recipe, we certainly do try and we continue to look in hopes that we may find it in the future for you!
Cornbread Whispering Canyon Cafe, Wilderness Lodge Yield: 12 servings. 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour 3/4 cup cornmeal 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar 1 1/2 teaspoons salt 1 tablespoon baking powder 1/2 cup vegetable oil 2 large eggs, beaten 1 cup milk 1. Heat oven to 375 F 2. Combine flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder, salt. 3. Add beaten eggs along with milk and vegetable oil. 4. Use a whisk to stir mixture, mixing only enough to incorporate the elements. 5. Pour batter into baking pan that has been coated with nonstick cooking spray. 6. Bake 20-25 minutes, or until golden. Cut in wedges and serve.

I noticed in the Lodgers' Log that many of your trips overlap

. Congratulations to you, Grandma! (Or is it Grandpa? )Whatever will you do if DD moves to FL? You'll have to visit her all the time and take her places - hope she'll be close enough for a WCC dinner

OK, so after carefull consideration we decided to extend our stay at the lodge. We'll now be arriving saturday the 4th and leave the 18th.
We still have tickets for ten days so room for a few days away. Like a daytrip to Nasa, some shopping.... I guess we'll mostly do that on the busier weekends. Only three months to go

Has anyone here done online check in? Are you able to make any room requests with the online check in? My daughter is doing online check in later today and she has a standard view. We have a woods view and are hoping that we can be close enough to be convenient to each other. If there are options on the online check in, would any of them increase her chances of being close to a woods view room?
I'm not planning on doing online check in. She is arriving one day ahead of us, so I need her room number before we check in so that we can try to get close to her room. I would love to be near Otter Pond, so I hope it all works out. TIA

It is so exciting to read all the announcements of upcoming trips! So many of us are in planning mode and many of us have our ADR date quickly approaching. (some of us are in planning mode even when we don't have a scheduled trip)
![]() WDWKOOK: I am looking forward to reading your review of dinner at BOG. I have read some rather mixed reviews in allears rate and review. It won't keep me from trying to make an ADR, but it does make me wonder if it will be worth the effort! OK. So last year I was stressing about the refurbishment at the lodge, so I switched to a 2 BR villa. (trip, sadly, not taken) This year, I have my villa and now there are rumors of a refurbishment there?? I feel like refurbs are following me around. At least in the lodge there are wings so you can escape some of the noise and disruption, but I am thinking at the villas there would be no way to do this. I know, I may be worrying needlessly, but that's me! I am not ready to panic and switch my res but I would so appreciate any news on this possibility. (I will also keep checking the VWL thread) Back to ADR planning now! |
