Worried about Dream Stateroom 8164...

When booking, a rather snarky TA said, you know that this cabin is RIGHT NEXT TO the elevators, right? I stammered that I would need to look into it. Trying to save some $$ next trip, so was hoping that this cabin would be okay. I like the less trafficked aft location, but I'm wondering now. Anyone have experience with this cabin? Only 2stateroom reports, neither mentioned noise problems? Thanks!

Well, I would say, with 2 reports and noone saying anything about noise, you're probably fine.

BTW, I'd be getting a new TA. It's their job to get you what YOU want.

Well, I personally would not worry about being next to the elevator as no cabin is really right next to them...on the Dream/Fantasy the elevators are in their own area (not right next to any cabin) IIRC.

We were behind a bank of elevators. I was concerned too. We never heard any elevator noise.

Our favourite location is usually mid-ship close to the elevators. I can't say I've found it terribly noisy or overly busy but it sure is convenient especially when you're tired. Most people move quickly through the hallways and I don't see that they make much noise. Whether it's mid-ship, aft or forward I think that being near the elevators is good and the belief that they are noisy staterooms is overly hyped.

We were in 7164 on the Fantasy and never heard any noise from the elevators or stairwells. Our door was visible from the elevators and stairs and no one ever bothered our magnets. The location next to the aft elevators was an ideal location to get to Animator's Palate and Royal Court easily. I really think you will be fine!

If the 2 trip reports didn't complain about noise, you should be OK.

Enjoy your cruise!

We were near the forward elevators on the Magic inside stateroom and didn't hear a thing from them. Personally, I would call the TA in the morning and cancel that reservation, then watch for the room to show back up on DCL's site and book it yourself.

We've been near the elevators on another cruise line, and never heard a thing. We're booked this summer on the Fantasy in 8164.

The guest room nearest to the elevators is not "right next to" the elevators.

I've been very close to the elevators and never heard any noise from them. And I'm with the above. If the price hasn't changed, the TA should.
