my husband suffers from Gladular fever.
your son's symptons do seem to point to glandular fever, he should get tested by the Doctor. I think it takes a while for the results but its worth knowing. It does take a long time to recover and you are pretty exhausted all the time. I know its only meant to be a 1 time illness but my husband has suffered from it many times. Even now he has to be careful, making sure he never over does things and get too tired. He has his own signs that he is over doing things and then makes sure he rest before getting glandular fever again. Good luck and hope your son recovers quickly.

our youngest daughter had glandular fever whilst we were on holiday at wdw a few yrs ago, we thought it was just the heat etc at the time. she had the same symptoms as you described.she also had a rash develope on the top bit of her feet, like a sort of heat rash. every yr since in the summer the rash appears back and she feels run down.

DD now 18 had very similar symptoms around this time 3 years ago plus she had such a sore throat that she couldn't swallow anything and we couldn't get her temp. down and she became dehydrated and ended up having to be admitted to the hospital. The exhaustion showed up first when we at WDW and we just thought that we'd been doing too much, the exhaustion went on for approx 3 weeks before any other symptoms appeared. Once they have run some blood tests it shouldn't take too long to figure out what is going on

I had to google glandular fever. Here in the US we call it Mononucleosis or just Mono for short.
I had it one time and it was no fun. Mine lasted for 6 weeks. I hope the OP child has a mild case if they have it. |
