Galveston Parking question - The DIS Discussion Forums

We are leaving this Saturday and are planning to leave our car at the Travelodge on Ave U. They have free cruise parking so we're planning to drop bags and part of our party at the cruise and go back to the hotel to leave the car and take a cab back. I've heard that parking at the port is $60 a day so this seemed like the best solution. I'm I right in that or is there a different and possibly better option? I'm thinking on our way out it will all seem fun and exciting and coming back we may wish we had done something different!

Based on the Ports website, parking for your cruise is a total of $60 (not per day). You can pre-pay for $55.

Port Parking is not $60 per day. Cost depends on length of cruise. $60 is for a 6 day cruise. here is the website:

Does anyone know what the cab cost might be from the hotel to the port? I imagine it can't be $30 one way. So the hotel parking would still be cheapest.

You can go here and input the address of the hotel and the port, and get a close estimate.
