Teppan Edo Question - The DIS Discussion Forums

DH and I want to try Teppan Edo for our upcoming trip. I was looking at the photo gallery on allears.net and the pictures show some tables with the Hibachi grill in the middle and other tables that look like regular restaurant tables. I don't want to go if we don't get the true Hibachi experience. Do some people get seated at those regular tables and their food just cooked in the back and brought out?

Whenever I've eaten at Teppan Edo I've sat at a grill. It's super fun!

Maybe you also saw pictures of the other Japan restaurant, Tokyo Dining?

I never saw any regular table there and we've been there a couple of times. lways at a grill

Maybe you are right - it may have been a gallery of both restaurants and I didn't realize it. I will have to double check.

We only saw tables around the grill where everyone had the hibachi style food/show/service. I think you're very safe with booking and having the experience you're looking for. We tried it for the first time this past summer and loved it!

What you saw was Tokyo dining. Which is to the right, once you walk in. Teppan edo is to the left. I assure you that at teppan edo you will get hibachi.

I hated that place, the stir fry vegetables were the two things I hated most, mushrooms and squash. Hated the noodles too. I would have got up and left if not for being with a party.

All the tables at Teppan Edo are hibachi style with the grill so no worries. We really love this place. The food is delicious and fresh. Enjoy!

It's so funny how people can have such opposite tastes!

I went there this week on Monday and Tuesday for lunch. I ordered extra mushrooms on Monday and extra zucchini squash on Tuesday :-)

We dined here just a few months ago, and we were not impressed. To answer your question, if you book a dining res at Teppan Edo, you WILL be seated at a typical 8-12 person hibachi. Tokyo Dining is probably what you saw as it is in the same building on the right side as you walk in. One of my complaints with TE is that they do not offer fried rice, only steamed white rice. They do all of the standard hibachi entertainment, and the service is pretty good. Unless you just really want hibachi, my favorite Asian restaurant in Epcot is Nine Dragons in China.

I may have enjoyed my meal had I got your serving of veggies - all I got was onions..onions and more onions.

We are hoping to eat there this summer. Thought the kids might like the dinner entertainment! I hope the food is good. This is one of the last countries we have not eaten at yet!

Fried Rice is a Chinese dish. Teppan Edo serves traditional Japanese food, thus the white rice. It is authentic.
It amazes me how this upsets many people.
We love Teppan Edo and go most every trip. I think the food is delicious
