Too bad Disney didn't do the 8-nights to Key West, WDW, and Castaway Cay out of Galveston from the outset. That would not have appealed to me personally, but I think it would have brought in more of their bread-and-butter (families and big Disney fans).

I think Disney thought the name would sell, but evidently thos in Texas didn't feel the same way.

Continuing our walk down the peer into Cozumel.





It was kind of funny as this family was walking with us. I assumed he was part of the group and we stopped for a bit to wait for our guide, Ceaser. This family realized that we were a group and then took off. It was kind of funny.

We went through a shopping plaza to get to our buses. It was kind of funny all the stores advertising drugs for sale. A popular sign we saw was for Viagra. You can get this over the counter here. I joked that I should get Skip some for a souvenir.



We went up over the road and then back down.





I got a quick shot of this guy. I think he really wants you to tip him to take his picture.



And of course we had many vendors asking us to come into their shops. I guess they really don’t have a clue what a group adventure is. Are we really going to stop and buy while the rest of the group goes on?

We made it to our bus and it was already hot and steamy out.





We met Ceasar and he talked the whole way out to the ruins. He was a very good guide and he was very passionate. He also told us the Corona and Dos Equi beers are what Mexicans consider the cruddy beers and pass them off to the Americans. LOL!

We were given about 10 -15 minutes to walk around, and use the bathrooms.









This is the bathroom roof. It was actually really clean in here.







When we met back up, Ceasar told us about some special gem stone they sold here. Of course we were able to get a special discount if we wanted to buy one.





And then it was time to head out to see the ruins.

Wow, things have changed quite a bit since I've been to Cozomel! I love those ruins & all the Mayan history. Those tiny houses were built for the workers on Cozamel when the Mexican government decided to make the island tourist destination.

I wonder why people wash their feet there?

It's a lot different from last time I was there too. But we also docked in a different spot last time too. I believe this is the newer dock and the one that I had docked last time actually was rebuilt after a hurricane. and it was about 13 years ago. LOL

Now that's what interests me. I would love see the ruins. My absolute dream is to go to Scotland and see all the old castles.

I would have definitely gone on that tour!

I know a lady who has her son go to Mexico and get her meds. She says its less than $100 for what she pays here for $2000.
I'd be worried it wasn't the right stuff. I mean, after 4 hours and things are still "up in the air" how do you explain that?

Nice update, I really liked Cozumel when we went there. We went to a national park type place for a beach day, they did have a small Mayan ruin there too but we didn't see it. I found out later it was a really cool thing to see.

We walked through that same plaza when we went to Cozumel. We did a catamaran snorkeling tour there where someone who couldn't swim tried to kill me...good times lol. I love all the photos of the ruins. I would have liked to have done one of those tours. Maybe next time.

Very cool! And probably the only way I could ever get Drew on a Disney cruise. He visited the Mayan ruins right after he graduated and would go back in a heartbeat.

Our first cruise to Cozumel (Norwegian Sun out of Miami) in November 2007 docked at this same pier, Punta Langosta. Either the mall wasn't there, or we weren't forced (by blocked gates and escalators) to go ALL the way through the mall area! On our cruise last January (RCCL Mariner of the Seas out of Galveston), I just assumed we'd be at the same pier (didn't do my research!), so I was quite surprised when we docked at the International Pier about five miles south of downtown! Fortunately taxis are plentiful and rates are set, and we got a good driver who recommended Casa Denis (just off the square downtown) for authentic Yucatan food.

It was really neat. I was so happy we decided to go on this. I was just loving taking it all in.
I want to go to Ireland. I think it looks so beautiful.
I worried about the meds being good enough too. I heard most are, but sometimes they aren't.

I think that other pier is the one we were at too. To get to most anything good you had to taxi to it.

Sometimes the most innocent sayins are just hilarious!

I think that sign was because my guess is that it gets muddly in the ruins after raining. We were ok, but I can see that happening. So I suppose people would go in the bathroom and make a mess there. Total guess on my part, but I think that sounds logical. otherwise, why the heck would I wash my feet there.

There was a lady in our group who was asking some questions. She looked so familiar and sounded familiar. I got to talking to her a bit and she wasn’t from anywhere that I would know her from, but it bugged me. Finally it dawned on me. I swore she was “Bonnie” from last year’s season of Biggest Loser. She even had a cane, and Bonnie had knee issues. I really thought it was her, but when I got home I asked Bonnie on facebook. Yeah, I have biggest loser people as my friends. LOL! And she said no, it wasn’t her, but she wished it was.
