pas - Those are the dates I have booked for a BB at YC CL. Still trying to figure out what I'm doing. DS9 said NO to going in April and October. Too much missed school. I guess it's good that somebody in my household is responsible, even if it's not a parent.

Looks like Summer and Christmas will have to be it if I want 2 more trips on these APs. I just need to figure out air. It would be so much simpler if I had booked summer air that worked with the BB dates.

jenny - Sorry to hear things didn't work out. Your DH's email literally made me laugh out loud before.

Janet - Nice to see you back. Love the pix of you and Grumpy Grandma! I hope you girls had a blast!

Miss - Another suggestion is Williamsburg/VA Beach. We had a blast a few years ago and it wasn't super expensive. I got a Bounce ticket for Busch Gardens/Water Country USA/Colonial Williamsburg for dirt cheap. I think it was maybe $500 for all of us unlimited for a week and that included free parking. We stayed at the Marriott Vacation Club property there and it was pretty nice and not too pricey.

Too bad Charleston is pricing out too high. I used to live down there and it is so charming! Savannah too.

Ok, I will talk about it now. This may be therapeutic for me. Sorry to bore you all with the gory details.

-visit dog at dog park
-think dog is "so cute!", "perfect size!", "not too hyper!"
-ask owner if I can take dog for a trial weekend
-follow owner to get food, bowls etc.
-bring dog home
-open door, cats double their size, run faster then I have ever seen in any direction
-dog proceeds to wake the dead with barking and howling
-chases cats in every direction
-finally get dog to calm down, cats are perched high up in different parts of the house, still trying to look larger than life
-relative calm until DH comes home
-he says hello to dog and is so cute and interested
-i leave for school to get DD's....wait for it
-come home, dog has attacked cat
-dog attacks cats sleeping cushions and proceeds to rip them to shreds
-dog snarls at DH who tried to get said cushions away from dog
-girls are hysterical, DD8 runs upstairs to lock herself in her room with Squirt
-DD8 begins screaming "SQUIRTY IS SCARED!!! SQUIRTY IS SCARED!!!" hysterically, which sounds like to mommy who is downstairs with monitor on
"SQUIRTY IS DEAD!!!" SQUIRTY IS DEAD!!"
-I have stomach sink, and feel as though my world has come to an end, and run upstairs
-DH tells me cat is OK, and then proceeds to step in dog pee accident #5
-decision made to maybe forgo weekend trial, and end trial after 4 hours.
-dog given back to owner after making sad eyes at me all the way there
-cry
-return home, stressed DH goes to see sick Nana, I yell at kids.
-great time was had by all.


I swear, I think I just wake up and say to myself "What can I do to upset myself and others today???"

Oh Jenny, I'm sorry it went so horribly! Have no fear, that doggie will find it's home, and yours will find you when the time is right.

Just think, it could have gone perfectly at the trial only to have things turn completely upside down once you took her in.

Oh thanks you guys... If nothing else, DH and I may have scared Perry straight. He is still tiptoeing around here looking around corners! He hasn't bothered Squirty at all tonight!
Squirty is laying behind me purring and massaging my head with her little paws like usual.

BTW Jeanette: I love the picture, she has such a little serene face. So cute. And the dog is freaking huge!!!
