Help choosing room at OKW
Hi guys. Our first stay as DVC members will be June 2013.
Our reservation is for a 2BR dedicated lockoff near the HH. Not sure this is the best location and since this will be our first time staying, I'm at a loss as to making a room request. Anyone have suggestions as to best location? Some of our priorities are first/second bus, somewhere we can refill our mugs, quiet pool or quiet location pref with nicer view. That's asking alot right?![]() Thanks! |

Welcome!
You will LOVE OKW!
I am a little confused tho with your reservation. You say it is a "dedicated lock-off". I thought "dedicated" meant not a lock-off...in other words it is a full 2 bedroom with only 1 entrance. A lock-off has two entrances. We had a dedicated 2 bedroom last May and were at the Pensular Road bus stop. I think it was building 24. We love that location since it is the first stop when the bus enters the resort. We walk to the HH when going to the parks since that is the last stop before leaving the resort. I remember we were able to pick Peninsular Road area when we did online check-in but it always helps to put your preference on your reservation. Hope that helps. |

HH is near the main building, which means you're near the main pool and a mug refill place. It's not near a quiet pool as far as I know. And as far as I have noticed (never having stayed in the HH locations) it's not quiet, since that's where everyone comes in to park to checkin or shop or whatever, and you have buses going in and out of the gates all the time. As a FWIW, the times we have taken the buses to parks, HH is the *last* location to get picked up. So you're not on a bus long, but you might not get seats!

It depends upon which set of Near HH building you are in, if you are in 11 to 14, you are closest to the last bus stop in the resort. If you are in bldgs 23 to 26, your closest to the first bus stop, so you'll be riding around the resort on your way to the parks.
Many people staying in bldgs 11 to 14 walk between these two stops depending upon if they are going to a park or are returning from a park. It is a pretty short walk between the two stops, just over a bridge.

For the near HH category, I'd personally prefer to be in bldgs 23 to 26, but even if not, it is only a short walk to that first bus stop.

We were in 13, third floor, 2 bedroom dedicated....meaning only one door to the outside...loved, loved, loved the location...quiet, facing the golf course, no bus noise....bus stop...last one before you leave for the parks...ALWAYS got a seat, we'd get off on Pensiula road coming back and walk home...short walk over the bridge, through the main bldg home...close to the mug refill, even though we had a full kitchen the gals walked over to get coffee every morning!
