Feeling better

about the whole issue now. My deductible is 500.00, newer model car, and my windshield has auto rain sensor built in so little extra price for that. I had to hear different voices of opinion to settle the issue in my mind. In my position, I have to travel at times and using a rental car has not been offered, suggested. I will chalk this up to the roll of the dice and experience. It's all in the timing....wrong place, wrong moment. Windshield was replaced today and now I can put it to rest in my mind. Thanks all for the words of wisdom. Greatly appreciated.

Chrysler mini van windshields are about $1,500

Exactly. But be very careful in making a claim if you do not have your car insured for use in your work.

Wow that's amazing. Depends on the company and where you live I guess.

I have family in (Northern) Saskatchwan Canada, insurance won't pay a penny for glass. My uncles usually have to put 2 windshields in their cars every year, 1 in spring and 1 in fall. Many of the roads are gravel, and their windshields are usually cracked again within a few weeks....they just want to start each season with a new one. I got lucky the one time I drove my car up, no windshield broke, but I did have a rock hit a headlight and shatter the glass.
