What's the deal with ADRs at T-Rex?
My husband and I are traveling this summer with his sister, brother-in law, and their two kids. We want to give the parents an adult night out, and take care of our 5 and 7 year old nephews (who are obsessed with dinosaurs) for the evening.
I was thinking the boys would enjoy T-Rex, so I just went online and tried to get a table for 4 on Sunday, June 9th. My only option was at 9:30 PM!! What's the deal? Does T-Rex leave most of their tables open for walk-ups, or is it actually that popular? |

I would guess its pretty popular. You can try calling directly to t-rex cafe. I should have did that since I was only able to get a 3pm
I would have much rather had a 5pm since we are trying to hit TSM at HS that morning. Now I feel like we sort of have to rush to get through HS to get back to the POLY to make it to DTD. Heres hoping fastpass+ comes into effect so I can get a later start to HS and go right to DTD!

Thanks everyone! I figured they probably just didn't release many reservations to the Disney website. I'll try going direct!

Call TRex and see if they have a 5:00 PM (or later) reservation. They probably do....everytime we have eaten there, regardless of time we were looking for...calling direct I got exactly what we wanted, +/- 15 minutes. Including twice when the Disney websites said "no times available for lunch" or "no times available for dinner". After you call them and get a better time, then cancel the 3 PM reservation.

Call them directly. They release very few of their tables for booking through Disney.

When I tried booking 180 days out, 8pm was my only option. I was so confused! I called TRex directly and booked a 6pm no problem. Disney told me TRex only releases a handful of reservation times to them!

Rainforest Cafe is run the same way so if you want an ADR there, it's best to contact them directly. Last edited by Disney_Princess83; 01-17-2013 at 09:33 AM. |

This. I had the same issue last year when trying to reserve a table 4 months out. I emailed T-Rex and received a prompt reply, a noon reservation and a confirmation. He explained the same as was posted above...they release a very limited amount of tables to Disney to reserve and they handle the rest. We've never had a bad meal there and although it's technically the same as RFC, the food is much better in our opinion.
