Second guessing reservation - fees involved?
We have booked a Deluxe Family Verandah but now comtemplating the idea of having 2 connecting rooms instead. We are only 35 or so days out at this point. Assuming there are even any connecting rooms left available, does anyone know if there would be a cancellation fee to make this change?

Ok, the rooms/rates I was considering our now not available so it is a non-issue but still curious if anyone knows the answer.

That depends...technically since you are after the PIF date (75 days) you are within the penalty period. But particularly if changing from 1 stateroom to 2 staterooms would increase the fare...they likely would waive any fee. I don't believe it would be a cancellation fee, just a change fee. And another factor would be if your original reservation was using a special discounted rate like *GT - those cannot be changed or cancelled.

It depends on how the CM you get chooses to handle it or whether you can appeal to a supervisor. Technically they CAN charge you the cancellation penalty for the people you are removing from the first room (you are not canceling the reservation, only some of the people), and then charge you to book the new room. Reality, unless you have a reservation that says "no changes," and your new arrangement costs more (so it is to their advantage!), they can probably be convinced to waive the cancellation fees.
