Disney's Secret "Toy Box"

Disney has recently filed for a patent for a new mobile gaming platform with cloud connectivity, GPS, and mobile skyhook location sensing technologies.

In October of 2012, the New York Times reported Disney was partnering with Apple on a new gaming initiative.

While at this time a direct connection cannot be drawn from Disney's application directly to Apple, the proposed features of of the secret project code named "Toy Box" sound identical. The gaming console involved extensive mobile and online applications, but maybe the most intriguing feature proposed is that Disney and Pixar characters would have the potential to interact with each other.

Additionally the patent pending Disney gaming console would feature a tremendously strong 3D reality slant including capturing multiple images of a real object and modify them to create an instant animated cartoon character.

Disney, Pixar, Apple....stay tuned gaming fans.

This sounds really cool, but I am not going to get my hopes up just yet solely based on the fact that all Disney Wii games with the exception of Epic Mickey are horrendous. Here's hoping that this will change things!

Agree Disney's games on an platform are not cutting edge. Hopefully this will be a big improvement

I think this is their new "Infinity" system.

http://news.disneyinteractive.com/as...l/pr54225.html

It's interconnected games and figures. Kind of like Skylanders I'm guessing.

I'm only guessing it's somehow related because they specifically mention a "ToyBox" mode which appears to be connected to the original patent.

Looks interesting.
