Are my kids "too old" for the pirate cruise?

Hello

I am reading about the pirate cruises that leave from the YC, GF, etc. It says that they are for kids 4-12. I did a search on here, and it seems that most kids who do these cruises are around 5-7. My kids will be a couple of weeks away from turning 9 & 10 on our next trip. Both dd and ds are intersted in doing one of these cruises. I know that they aren't officially too old, but will it be "too young" for them? Any input would be great--thanks!

My ds is 9 and I am also interested in hearing others responses to this.

We had 4 kids in our group last year and did the cruise. Ours were 4, 8, 8, 9(the three oldest were boys). They loved it and I expect that would still like it for several years to come.

I am honestly surprised they even suggest an age. I saw plenty of teenagers there when we did it and they all seemed to be having a great time.

I don't think they're too old, but it depends on your kid. If your kid is getting to the point where he rolls his eyes at things - then maybe he's too old. My DD is turning 10 next month and she'd love to do the Pirates and Pals again. We tried to do it back in August, but it got canceled because of the storm.

Are you referring to the kids cruise during the day or the fireworks pirate cruise? I think the op is referring to the kids one in the mornings.

My kids did it when they were 10, 8 and 5. They all loved it but I know my oldest felt a little old at first. By the time it was over he had had a great time though!

No way! Last time we did it we had a 10 and an 8 year old. Both LOVED it and the 10 year old boy was more into it. This past trip (last week) my daughter who is now 9 and was begging me to do it again but we just didn't have the time since it was a short trip that was planned 2 days before we left.

My girls did this in October (the one that leaves from YC). The oldest was 9 and she liked it a lot. I think she might have liked it better if her almost 5 year old sister wasn't with her though.

My grandsons went on the Pirate Cruise when they were 10 and 8. It was one of the major highlights of their trip. They loved it!

Yes, I was referring to the one in the mornings for kids only Thanks to all for the insight on the cruise--sounds like my kids will enjoy it!

Oh....
Ignore my comment then - we haven't done that one (but the Pirates and Pals Fireworks cruise is awesome!).

Taking my daughter to Disney for the first time and wondering if this cruise is good for just boys or girls also? Thanks!

We did it last year from POR and our group of 5 kids LOVED it. They were 9,8, 7, 6, & 5. My son was the 8 year old last year and it was one of his FAVORITE things we did. I know he'd love it again this year at 9.

My niece did the Albatross cruise from the Grand Floridian when she was 10. At first, she was the only girl and was feeling a little out of place, but soon several more girls showed up and she was raring to go. She has done all of the children's activities and enjoyed them all immensely. My mom and I usually used that time to have a spa treatment, so it was a great time had by all.
