using Disney Visa card to pay off resort

I'm not sure where to post this so I'll try here. I plan to use my Disney Visa to pay off my room only payment at check in. That will give me a nice reward credit.(BWV 2 bedroom) Can I go to the guest services at the park and immediately get those rewards put on my gift card? Do I need to go online and pay off the room charge right after I use it to get the rewards?

I am a charter Disney Visa Cardholder - I've had mine since 2002. You can transfer AVAILABLE reward dollars instantly (I do it online from the chase website) but you'll have to order a redemtion card first to have them transferred onto.

Also, it's been my experience that you don't get credit for the Disney Dream Reward dollars until the NEXT statement after the charge is made, so you may want to pay off the room a little early and get the rewards dollars transferred before you go.

Above is correct. Rewards points don't become available to transfer to the Rewards card until AFTER your statement closes, no matter how early you pay it off. So no, thre is no way to get your points instantly after using the card to pay the trip, even if you pay it off that same day. I usually see my points pop up in my account about 5 days after the statement close date.

So you can use your rewards points to pay on your actual trip?

For example: I booked my trip online through the Disney website. I have $245 in rewards points. Can I use those points to pay on the actual trip? I thought I had to get a gift card to use at the Disney store or in the parks.

Yes you can use the Rewards Dollars to pay your resort/tickets/package!

We paid off our entire last trip with the Visa and had no trouble getting the rewards dollars at statement close. With the 45 day rule there is plenty of time for them to process.

My brother just used his $500 accumulated dollars to pay a chunk of his next month's trip.

As stated, rewards are available after the statement closing date. Pumpkinjl, you can use them to pay on your trip, but you need to order a redemption card from Chase. Once you have the redemption card, it will work just like a Visa or gift card would.

OP, if you want to use rewards earned on your vacation, you will need to pay the balance of your room a few days before the closing date of the bill prior to arrival.

Thanks all! That's what I thought. I'll just pay the room off early and add the rewards to my reward card. Now the next question is if something happens and we have to cancel will I get all of my money back? If I cancel 5 days before check in?

Can the Disney Rewards Dollars card be used at QS and TS Restaurants? Can we charge things to the room with the KTTW and then pay it off at the front desk with the reward dollars card? We ended up renting DVC points, we are not doing the dining plan and I think we will use UT for tickets. So, I would like to use our reward dollars as our unofficial dining plan.

Absolutely! The rewards card can be used anywhere on property that accepts gift cards or Visa cards.
