Help, weird Palo reservation question

Hi all,

I don't know how weird this is, but I'm having trouble choosing a night to reserve a Palo dinner. Here's our obsessive-compulsive problem: we don't want to miss Pirate night or formal night in the regular rotational dining rooms with the rest of our family; and, if at all possible we don't want to miss the first and last night's of our cruise so we can meet and say goodbye to our servers.
Basically, is there any way to predict what nights will be pirate and formal? Are navigators the same from cruise to cruise? Perhaps experts here can predict: we will going on a 5 night western caribbean cruise out of miami on the wonder. Itinerary:

Day 1: miami
Day 2: at sea
Day 3: cozumel
Day 4: at sea
Day 5: castaway cay
Day 6: miami

Any predictions for pirate night and formal (or semiformal if thats what they have) nights on this cruise?

Thanks!

Yes, a 5 night caribbean cruise is a 5 night caribbean cruise. The only adjustments I've read about on cruises that have a prior history are ones that may have a special holiday on them (Christmas, NYE).

I would say that the semi-formal night would be night 2 (typically most formal/semiformal nights are on the first sea day), and pirate night would be night 4.

If there are navigators posted for you type of cruise, they'll give you a better idea of what nights.

We felt the same way. Did not wat to miss anything. So we made our Palo reservations for the first time slot, 6:30 I think. We had second seating for the main dining room so we were finished in time to join the rest of our family and chit chat while they ate. You will have a great time no matter what.

You should be able to look at your cruise activities page if you can book Palo now. The day that says "shipboard activity" will be pirate night. My guess would be that pirate night is cozumel day, since that is the day we had pirate night on the 7-night westerns.

Thanks everyone. THIS is a great idea. We have second seating too. Big thanks!

I don't understand the reasoning behind going to Palo and then the second seating if you don't want to miss anything. If you do that, you will miss the show that evening.

If you schedule Palo for early on Pirate night, you can eat at Palo, chit chat with your family during their 2nd-seating dinner, then go to the Pirates party.

I would pi k the last night. You can drop of your tip tickets at guest services. They will make sure the tips get to your servers.

If you are eating breakfast in the MDR before you get off the ship, you will have the same wait staff.

I would rather spend a nice evening at palo with my husband than say goodbye to servers.

We had the same worry both cruises we went. We ended up going the last night and the kids went to dinner themselves (our servers were great). We didn't miss any of the theme nights and then we went back down and said goodbye to our servers and visited with them for a few minutes while the kids were finishing up. I think that is what we will do this time around in April as well.

Not always with the custom checks the crew rotates through.

This is correct... Just sailed 1/5.

Also, you should be in the same restaurant on nights 2 and 3.

We had APPTA, so nights 2 and 3 for us were Parrot Cay (our least-favorite restaurant).. So we just had to decide if we wanted to skip pirate night or the normal PC menu. We ended up skipping pirate night in favor of Palo.

This is why I pick brunch. I like the main dining rooms and I didn't want to miss out, but I never felt like breakfast was special...
