Tusker House breakfast logistics

Planning on breakfast at Tusker House. Have a few questions....

1. We are staying at AoA and we were not going to rent a car. Busses don't start running until one hour before park opening. Is there any way to get there for an 8am reservation? Or do I have to rent a car?

2. If we have a car, where do we park? Regular AK parking???

1. You should be able to get a bus. They start earlier. We had an 8am ressie and got a bus at 730

2. Your resort can likely get u a shuttle if need be ask the front desk.

3. You park in the normal lot

4. Finish by 845 and take in the empty Harambe village it's great.

5. You will be the first to ride the safari just ahead of the rope drop crowd

Buses start running earlier than that. When we did an early TH breakfast, AK opened at 9am and our ADR was for 8:05am. We got on a bus at 7:15. Buses don't run as frequently that time of the morning, however. We did have to wait a little bit. We pulled up to AK at 8am so we made it just in time. Also, this was in September which is slow season.

Thanks! We are going in September too. Right now car rentals are running around $65 which seems very expensive to me.

Our bus did not come. We waited and waited for over 45 min. Every time we have a reservation at AK, the bus never comes. We had our car so at 7:50 went to our car to drove over there. Got in late but still had breakfast.

Another option is taxi.

The buses SUCK early in the morning. I waited from 7am til 740am for a bus to AK once. This has happened a few times with other parks too. Never again. Since then, i always take a taxi. So much easier.

I meant $65/day for the car!!

Ugh. Guess I'll wait and see if car prices go down. I'd much rather be in charge of my destiny....LOL

Why do that when you could take a taxi for under $20?

I never thought about a taxi. I guess I figured there weren't any on Disney property. But that's a much better idea!

We found the taxi very convenient. We called the night before for the time we needed and we were all set in the morning for an early morning adr. It was easier than we thought and we used it a few times over the years. Enjoy your breakfast!

We had 8:00 reservations and were told by the front desk that the buses started running at something like 6:45 and would run every 20 minutes. We were at the bus stop at 6:45 and at 7:20, we had seen a bus for every park except Animal Kingdom. We finally did get a bus around 7:30, though.

Tusker House was the worst dining experience that we have had at Disney. Not just worst breakfast. Not just worst character dining. Worst dining experience period. When we arrived to check in, it was very disorganized. The person who was calling the guests could barely get her voice above a regular speaking level. People were so loud outside that it was very hard to hear it. As I said, we had 8:00 reservations. We met people on the bus who had 8:30 reservations and they were seated before us. When we were finally seated, we requested our ticket as soon as we sat down because our whole reason for booking this early was so that we could be the first ones at the safari. That didn't happen. We didn't get our ticket. We asked again. No ticket. She finally did bring it to us, but then disappeared so we couldn't pay. The food was good, but lots of people didn't follow health regulations. They would use their hands to grab pastries, fruit, and even the quiche. Not Disney's fault, but very unappetizing. A large tour group was there and the characters spent a lot of time with them so they ended up rushing through us. We ordered a milk for our daughter, but that was another ticket fiasco. It never came. The guy who brought the photos around had trouble finding people, so that took a lot of time. When we finally got our picture and got all paid up, we got to leave the restaurant in time to see quite the large group of people on their way to the safari. We weren't on the first car out. Not even close.


So, my advice is to go by your front desk and tell them you need a shuttle to AK for Tusker House breakfast. Make sure you get there early. Keep asking for your check and have your payment ready as soon as you get the check. Hope for a good character experience (I have heard that my Tusker House experience is quite the exception which I do believe). Try very hard to get out of there early to be on that safari first thing. Good luck!

I never have a car when I am at Disney and have not had any problems getting to pre-park breakfasts using the bus system I would suggest taking a cab if you are concerned
