New Jersey DIS Meet Weekend for Give Kids the World

WHEN: April 26-28, 2013

WHERE: Bridgewater, New Jersey

WHO: Your DIS Friends & Guests, Pete Werner & Members of The DIS Unplugged Podcast

Mark your calendars for a fun-filled weekend! Several events scheduled including a chance to meet and greet with new and old DIS friends, games, prizes, silent auction, kids' activities, and more!

Schedule of Events:


Friday, April 26 - DIS Game Night

- Meet and greet with members of the podcast team
- Social time with old and new DIS friends
- Snacks and desserts (Bring Your Own Beverage - Non-Alcoholic)
- Activities will include Name That Tune (Disney & Podcast), BUNCO, and a TASTYCAKE EATING CONTEST!!!

Saturday, April 27 - Main Event
- An exciting day with DIS friends old and new! Buffet lunch, games, kids' activities, silent auction, prizes, and more!
- Wear your DIS Meet Weekend t-shirt to receive five extra tickets to our auction baskets! Shirts may be purchased through the registration link below!

Somerville Elks Lodge Banquet Hall
Somerville, NJ
12-5 pm

Adults - $30
Children - $15

Admission includes registration fees, hot buffet lunch, donation to Give Kids the World, and 10 tickets for our SILENT AUCTION if you register by March 1st! Anyone registering after this date will receive the same package, but with 5 tickets. Note that there is a limited number of people who may attend this event, so book early!

Ticket bundles for our silent auction will also be sold at the event. We will have dozens of baskets to try for and know you're bound to find something you like!

- A day to celebrate Give Kids the World and spend those last few moments with your DIS family.

Hotel Registration:

The Hilton Garden Inn has secured rooms for our event. The hotel is down the road from the venues and in the Bridgewater Promenade near Target, Applebees, Costco, and more. All rooms have a refrigerator, microwave, and free WiFi; king and queen beds offered. Hot breakfast cooked to order is available as well as an indoor pool and exercise room.

Cost - $97.75 (price includes taxes)
Rooms are reserved at this rate from April 25-28 for those who would like to arrive early for sightseeing in New York or elsewhere.

Friday 7-10 pm - Game Night & Julie's Snooki REVEAL!

If you are registered for this event, you will pick up your packet for the whole weekend's itinerary, including your pre-ordered t-shirt. If you have a lanyard (any kind), bring it with you as we will only have a limited amount available for your name tag. Please come at 7pm if at all possible so you don't miss any of the fun. Events for this night include "Name that Disney Tune", Bunco, Tastykake Eating Contest, etc. Snacks will be served.

Saturday 12-5 pm - Main Event

Check-in will start at 11:30 in the lobby. You will pick up your meet materials and your pre-ordered t-shirts. If you have a lanyard (any kind), bring it with you as we will only have a limited amount available for your name tag. Wear your DIS Meet Weekend t-shirt to receive five extra tickets to our auction baskets!

12:00 - The BIG Reveal!! Doors open to the main event. You will want to be there and checked in so you get find a table and starting bidding!

12-12:30 - Play DIS Bingo while you meet new friends. Start bidding on over 130 items!

12:30 - Welcome and Announcements

1:00-2:30 - Lunch is served and bidding continues. Where in the World Photo game, Guess How Many game, t-shirt sales, and more. Kids activities throughout the day.

2:30 - Auction bidding ENDS

2:30-3:30 PODCAST RECORDING

3:30 - Winners announced for the raffle and silent auction items (you must be present to win!)

5:00 - Event ends

Trouble is, our calendar is in a great state of flux. Just swapped May cruise dates to do a Panama Canal cruise instead of west coast/Alaska. Plus we're talking with a realtor in FL in just a couple of weeks. Who knows where that could lead?
