1900 park fare or BOG for dinner
We have 1TS left and my 180 ADR booking is in a couple weeks.
I read several bad reviews about BOG for dinner. Is it better to try BOG for lunch ? Which one do you tink is the best ? If it helps, I am planning to book : Akershus, Teppan Edo, Chef Mickey's, Garden Grill and Ohana. We are on the dining plan.

with the dining plan i would do buffets so 1900 would be a better choice imo. I don't like the dining plan as I like appetizers and not desserts at the restaurants so it is never worth it for me

1900 PF dinner food is not good. At all. Terrible quality and selection. Even desserts were disappointing. That was our experience anyway.
I would definitely go with BOG.

We were lucky to get a free dining plan so it is definitly a good deal for us. Did you happen to try 1900 park fare for dinner ? I don't like too much to stand in line and I am a bit scared 1900 PF might be crowded in mid-August during our stay. I was thinking about a 8:00 p.m ADR.

We had 8:00 res for 1900 in mid/late Aug and got seated a little after 9:00. By that time, they pretty much stopped refilling the buffet so our choices were really limited. I haven't tried BOG yet, but don't think I'd do 1900 again.

Thanks for your replies.
How long did you have to stay in line to reach the buffet ? Wes the restaurant really crowded at that time ?

It's been a few years since we've eaten at 1900 PF, so food could have changed. We were happy enough with it. It wasn't as good as Crystal Palace dinner, but it was good. I think going earlier at a buffet is better. We ate there at a very busy (booked full) time in June. We didn't have to wait in lines to get food.
But in August with free dining, if you want to eat at BOG at all, you probably will want a reservation. I'd make the ADR and keep reading reviews. You can always cancel BOG if you change your mind, and 1900 PF is usually pretty easy to pick up. Sent from Tracey's iPhone using DISBoards

That's what I was planning to do : get a double reservation.
Obviously do you think (if we prefer a character meal) to go for Crystal Palace instead of 1900 PF ? Those ADR are driving me crazy !

We've always had a wonderful experience at 1900 PF. The food variety is much better than at other buffets (not just mashed potatoes and mac-n-cheese). There are a lot of salads, fresh made pasta station that the chef will put in whatever ingredients you select and make it right there in front of you, carved meats, pastas, fresh fruit, etc. The food has always tasted delicious and has been very fresh, and the character experience is, in our opinion, the best on property. The stepsisters play their role so well that it makes your meal a wonderful experience. We've always had an early reservation time (5:05-5:20) which may factor in to why our food quality has been much better than other people's experiences. We love 1900 PF and would highly recommend it. I also agree with another poster that breakfast at Crystal Palace is very good. Food was great and the characters were sweet. The difference between the characters is that at 1900 they're face characters that can interact more with you, and boy do the stepsisters ever! If it were me, I would choose 1900 PF and eat at BOG for lunch. The reviews seem better for lunch, plus it saves you a TS credit for another place but you can still dine there for lunch and get a feel for the place. Plus, it seems a tad nicer CS place than some others.
