Try TJ Maxx if there's one near you for good bargains on luggage. I never would have thought of going there, but I see their deals when I go in, have stored it away for future luggage needs!

I like to buy luggage at Kohls when they have their 1/2 off sale and I have a 30% off coupon.

We bought our moms great Samsonite rolling garment bags for mother's day 2 years ago. Reg price $300. sale price $150. after coupon $105. Since Kohls allows 2 coupon codes, we found a free shipping code too. I prefer to buy online cuz the ones in the store look like they've been dragged around and are often missing the accessories that should come with it.

You sound just like me!! People don't believe that I do nothing without a coupon or some kind of deep savings. Boy, are they missing out!

Yes, it just pains me to pay full price for anything.

You mentioned you need a camera too. I would spend the $ on that before buying new luggage. You can get by with minimal/makeshift luggage but childhood is so brief. You will miss these days and a million pictures just won't be enough.

Totally forgot to tell you all!!! A great friend of mine is going to let me borrow her waterproof, shockproof (and hopefully me-proof) camera

I got my mother to understand (I hope) that this trip is not about just her, but that we have a choice to make good memories with our time together or we can regret ever going at all. I told her that we have to share the space and that something she had to go at alone. Sigh, I feel better.
