Was just told we can only refill our mugs at the resort or at water park. Is this accurate?

Yes, at the resort. The dining plan brochure also informs you of that.

I thought the water parks had their own refillable mug for purchase. Did that change? As far as I know, you can only use your dining plan mug at your resort.

This is the correct information about the resort refillable mugs. Resort refillable mugs are only for use at your resort, for the length of your current Disney resort stay. You can't bring them to other resorts for refills. You can't use them at the water parks. Water parks have their own refillable mug program which involves buying a daily bar code for $5 to reuse your water park mug on following water park visits.

The water parks have their own mugs. You don't use the resort mugs there.

The resort mugs are for refilling only at your resort.

The mugs available this week at Wilderness have no Wilderness designation on them at all. They have a Disney design but it's a general one. Possibly just out of their own branded ones after the holidays?

They did away with resort specific mugs many moons ago. They are all the same now. Currently a beach theme for the last two years. Hopefully a new one will be out soon. They have been on a two year-ish cycle for the last 6 or so years.
