Depends on what you deem "inexpensive" but the Pop gift shop has a wide variety of items including little souvenirs like small toys, keychains, magnets, candy, snacks, etc. If you really need to find something, you can at Pop.

If you are looking for discounts, there is a clearance section at Downtown Disney inside the Marketplace Fun Finds store. The select varies depending on what they are clearing out, but I like to visit to see what deals they have.

If you have a car there is a Disney Character Warehouse outlet in the Orlando Premium Outlets Vineland Ave. It's fairly close to WDW property. Here you can see what kinds of items they are marking down for clearance.

We're headed to POP to stay in a preferred pool-view room in another month or so and are wondering how the wifi access is -- in the rooms, around the food court, near the HD pool, etc. We're considering whether we should add a tri-fi (3G/wimax/LTE) wireless hotspot to our Sprint account to take along, but is the resort WiFi access such that we won't need it?

Thanks for any help - and all the info I've already gained by lurking in the shadows on this thread!

Um when we were there in August pretty bad. I was able to get on sometimes Early morning. forget later in the day.

We had no trouble at all when we were there in October. Of course, we were only trying in the very early morning hours and the very late evening hours. We do the parks from open to close, so it might depend on how many people are trying to use it at the same time. Good luck!

Just got back from our first stay at POP and wanted to share my observations/thoughts:

Positive:
We loved POP. The theming is amazing. We had no problems really. We got in at 9:30 am and our room was ready so we were happy. We look around a bit and got some food at the food court and by the time we went back to the room at 11:30 our bags had already been delievered by ME.

Our room was always clean.

We requested to be close to the other party we traveled with and 50s lakeview. We got 50s lakeview building 2 and they were in building 3 which was good enough for us.

The pools were nice and heated!

No problems with Wi-fi. Always had a good connection.

Magical Express was quick and on time both going to the hotel and back to the airport.

The buses were pretty good when we were there. We rarely waited for a bus except when leaving at park closing.

Negative:
We had water and soda delivered to the resort from Walmart. When we went to pick them up from the concierge desk, the lady acted like we were crazy when we asked if we could use a luggage cart to bring them to the room. Then we waited 45 minutes for someone from luggage assistance to come take them to our room even though we would've done it ourselves but she wouldn't let us.

There was a cockroach in our room. We only saw one so I figured it could be a fluke but still was a little nervous.

They changed the locks on our doors when we were there. The first time we got back, our key took 15 minutes to let us in.

We had horrible experiences with the food court. The food itself wasn't bad but asking any of the workers any questions or for any alterations was like pulling teeth. It was as though they only knew how to do the 4 things on their menu and if you wanted to add or subtract anything from the listed item, you may as well have been speaking Japanese. The service was slow, it was always crowded and I was charged for extra cream cheese.....

There were Brazilian tour groups there and they did use the Pop buses. Luckily POP seemed to realize and sent extra buses in the mornings.

We were at Pop in April and August of 2012. Wi-fi was fine during "off hours." I had great connections at 6:00 in the morning and then it was spotty when everyone else was using it. I was very glad to have my mi-fi to use when I needed to do some work and connect with my office and clients. I always take mine and, if I don't need it, good.

May I ask how much it was to have water delivered from Walmart? When I look online it looks line 97 cent shipping but wondered if there were additional fees. Thanks

Refillable 16 oz mugs can be purchased for $15.49(plus tax) at the Food Court for use during your resort stay; they cannot be used anywhere else at WDW. Includes unlimited refills on the following: basic coffee, soda (Coke products: Coca-Cola, Coke Zero, Diet Coke, Fanta Orange, Sprite, Sprite Zero), Fruit Punch Powerade, Minute Maid Light lemonade (there is no lemonade available that doesn't contain artificial sweetener), cold Gold Peak tea (black (aka regular) sweetened, black unsweetened, green sweetened, and white citrus), hot tea, and hot cocoa.

Celebration Cakes
Six inch cakes are decorated with flowers and personalization; Disney decorations are available on larger cakes. Ask for current prices.

Fresh vanilla cake with vanilla frosting (topped with a Mickey picture) is available in the Food Court.

Fresh chocolate cake with chocolate frosting is available but requires pre-planning. Call the Food Court Head Chef in advance of arrival, place an order with a credit card; your cake will be available for pick up at the Pop bakery. TIP: Check with the Pop's Head Chef upon arrival to ensure your order will be ready for you. The POP Cake Hotline is 407-938-3070. Chill Out At POP's POOLS

Pop Century offers three pools, which are located in the 50s, 60s, and 80s/90s areas. None of the regular pools feature zero entry; however, the edges are shallow, getting gradually deeper towards center, but no deeper than 4 9".

The Kids Wading Pool, a splash & play area, offers zero entry and is located by the Hippy Dippy Pool.

The Hippy Dippy Pool, is the featured pool located in the 60s courtyard and closest to Classic Hall. There are four flower shower spray fountains facing into the pool. This pool has an entrance with gradual steps/railing to assist those with special needs.

The Computer Pool is located in the 80s and 90s courtyard and the Bowling Pin Pool is located in the 50s courtyard.

Life vests are located in a bin near all pools and available for use at no cost. Pool inflatables and noodles are allowed; Everything Pop has a few items for purchase such as goggles, noodles, etc.

• All pools are heated
• There are no pool slides / Jacuzzis / hot tubs
• Towels are not provided at the pool
• No diving in any pool is permitted
• All diaper-age children are required to wear plastic pants or swim diapers. These can be purchased at any of the gift shops on property.

Lifeguard hours are typically from 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. (check the board)

SHAKE, RATTLE & ROLL (and other fun happenings)

Poolside Activities are held daily at the Hippy Dippy Pool and are subject to change. Ask for an activities sheet upon check-in for the latest up-to-date information (games, movies, etc.).

• Do "The Twist in the Food Court at 8:00 am (thanks DISer Jenseib)
• In the afternoon by the huge Big Wheel, Cast Members get out Big Wheels for the kids to ride (check times)
• Near Petals, the lifeguards get out the hula hoops in the afternoon (check times).
• Do The Hustle in Classic Hall and Food Court at 6:00 pm
• A parade in Classic Hall for the kids is held daily between 5:30-7:00 pm
• Outdoor Twister can be played in the 70s courtyard on the end closest to Classic Hall (see picture below)
• Near the entrance of Classic Hall, there is sidewalk chalk and hula hoops available to use
• Fast Forward Arcade is in Classic Hall. All game machines are cashless; an arcade card must be purchased for use. Guests may use their KTTW, credit card or cash to do so.
• Ping Pong table is located near the Hippy Dippy Pool and the Food Court entrance. You'll find a candy machine-like dispenser at Petals Bar where you get your ping pong ball for $0.50.
• Step back in time by checking out the shadow boxes in the lobby of Classic Hall
• Giant Lego blocks are on the sidewalk by the luggage pickup station (thanks englishRose47)
• Theres a playground in the 70s era behind Building #10 on the Classic Hall side (pic below -thanks DISer Epcot Bill)

I have a question: Does anyone know if ordering a large pizza and eating in the food court, would it still be 2 table service like having it delivered or a quick service?

Sorry I mistyped. I had originally planned to send it from Walmart but Walmart doesn't ship cases of soda. I actually ordered it from Staples. A case of 24 waters and 24 Cokes cost me $18. But it was free delivery and no additional fees. They also ship in about 2 days. I ordered it on the 27th to check in on the 3 and had confirmation it was delivered by the 29th! Hope that helps!

first stay at POP in May. So excited. I loved reading through this thread. I tried to request a packnplay when I made my res but the agent told me they were in the closet area of every room already??? Is this true? also I am not requesting any special location, I thought I would like to be surprised, but we didn't pay extra for preferred. Will anyone else be there on mothers day?

Yes it's true. You might have to request it but they're available.

I'm pretty sure the roaches come up threw the bath drain. I have never seen one in our room until this trip. Actually We had 2. I woke dh up one time to get it. our room was spotless all 10 days except for the 2 critters.

I didn't know they came up through they drain I thought they squeezed through the gap under the door. I guess they could also come in through the ventilation system.

On the pizza question. If you pick it up yourself it is 2 CS credits. having it delivered is 2 TS meals. Comes with 2 deserts and 2 beverages.
