BLT or AKV JAMBO 1-BDR VILLA?
We are dihard Poly lovers. Although Poly has big rooms, the 1 Bdr Villas at AKL Jambo are 710 sq. ft. and BLT are 808 sq. ft.--much larger. For that reason we are seriouslly considering BLT and AKL Jambo 1 BDR-Villas. We are staying 10 nights in August and it would be really nice to settle in and have space to spread out a little. The separate master bedroom and in room washer and dryer are bonuses as well. We are not so worried about transportation as we are willing to take a taxi if/when necessary.
For those who have stayed at either Villa, which would you choose? What are the highlights of each resort? Thanks in advance! ![]() UPDATE: I CALLED CRO AFTER I POSTED AND SWITCHED TO JAMBO. STAYED AT CR IN PAST AND DECIDED AGAINST BLT FOR THAT REASON ONLY--WANT TO TRY SOMETHING REALLY NEW. SO EXCITED!!! Last edited by tinkermommyof3; 01-11-2013 at 10:19 AM. |

BLT 1BRs have a sleeper chair to accommodate 5, as well as a 2nd bathroom. AKV-kidani 1BR also has a sleeper chair to accommodate 5, as well as a 2nd bathroom.
AKV-jambo house does not have the sleeper chair and only has 1 bathroom. in general, BLT is a short walk from the MK and has covered walking to the monorail. BLT is also a short walk from the bus hub at the MK - so it's easy to catch a bus to AKL or the boardwalk area for dining at those resorts. AKV has giraffes and zebras. it has darker theming with exotic feel - i love the music and the smells in jambo house's lobby when boma is cooking...i love boma and jiko...but it is a bit farther from the MK if that is a focus of your trip.

Thanks for your reply. I just booked AKV-Jambo 1-BR for the reasons you described. We are a family of five. You are correct about some 1-BR not having the sleeper. I believe they are the Value 1-BR (would have been nice to save a few dollars). However, the standard 1-BR do have a sleep chair, and sleeper sofa. We will only have one bathroom. But, I like the idea of the savannah view and the restaurants. Kidani looks beautiful but I would rather be in Jambo house around the hustle and bustle.
Thanks again for your perspective!

You'll love the AKL Villa. We just stayed there last September. Our kids love those pools the most and having animals outside of your balcony, everyday and all day...how can you beet that!?! We bought some nightvision googles for that trip. Seeing the animals at night was a whole new experience.

we have done both.
We prefer BLT hands down. We love having the extra bathroom. and since our favorite park is MK, it is a bonus to be able to walk there. Also for food, I like being able to hop all the monorail and go to the Poly for a dole whip! we prefer Kidani over Jambo- it is more quiet over there and the parking is easier at Kidani. the downside to Kidani is no quick service. no matter which one you pick, they are both awesome.

Thanks! AKV still has an exotic feel like the Poly but a different theme and more space. Can't wait!! Now that the resort is settled I need to rebook flights on 2/4 when SW releases them for 8/15.
