dvc point transfer question

Does the restriction of dvc point use follow the points oon a transfer? I am trying to book a criuse and am short points. So i wanted to do a transfer, but don't know if i need too be asking people if they bought direct or not.

Why not just pay cash for those not covered by points?

Yes, the total number of one time use points purchased from Disney is 24 per use year, and only for reservations made within the 7 month window. BUT for cruises, you should be able to pay for the first passenger with points, and then any of the rest of the passengers can be paid cash....unless the rules have changed. I don't think, though, that you can pay for any one passenger with a combination of points and cash.

I believe the restriction follows on the transfer. We did this for my mom. Both of us are direct buyers but I have a couple of small resales. They selected the direct contracts for the transfer to her account for the cruise and did not use any of the resale contracts for the transfer.
