Rose and Crown Candlelight Packages

We have been booking Candlelight dinner packages on Christmas Eve for the last 12 years. It has become a family tradition. This time we decided to try the Rose and Crown. I can honestly say it was the worst menu I have ever seen. Certainly nothing traditional about it. What do most folk in the UK have at Christmas time? How about Turkey with trimmings? Steak pie? Roast beef and Yorkshire pud? No show. But the Yorkshire pud did come with the battered fish and steak! Ugh! How about starting with a tiny cup of Butternut Squash soup - very Christmassy- no bread either. Desserts were also totally bizarre. We will certainly never return to this restaurant. What a waste of money. Sorry if this seems a dreadful moan but the food on offer blighted our lovely Candlelight experience.
