No choice here. No one delivers within a 15 mile radius. So if we want pizza/fast food, we have to drive for it.

Though we do have a choice between driving 5 miles for fast food (Subway, McD's, DQ) or 15 miles for anything else.

If its just me and the kids, spaghetti is the "I am lazy and broke" meal, since DH doesn't like spaghetti. If its just me and DD, she will join me for a big ol helping of fried noodles. If it's just me and DS, it's usually fried eggs and toast for a lazy meal.

I had already made pasta for lunch since I was too lazy to make anything else.
I actually can't wait to start student teaching next week and get back into the habit of making lunch and healthier dinners. I've been so lazy over winter break that I haven't felt like cooking at all.

I agree with some others. We have pizza places that deliver, but I haven't ordered delivery in years. But ordering pizza wouldn't have qualified as frugal or lazy to me.

For me, frugal would have been canceling the pizza order and heading to the kitchen to find something to eat. For me, "lazy" would have been deciding not get out of my nice warm bed to go to the kitchen, and just going to sleep hungry instead.

That's nothing - I'm guessing we have at least 20 within 2 miles (can walk to about 4 in 5 minutes). No one here charges delivery, and many places besides pizzarias and chinese restaurants deliver (no charge). Every pizzaria has a cheap pizza night for an $8 pizza (big one - not like the chains), so we order then. I'm thinking wings tonight. Having it delivered is usually worth the price of the tip, although most places are only a two minute drive (parking can be an issue).

I don't call it laziness I call it convenience. I'll pay 2 bucks more for a gallon of milk at the stop and go before I go into walmart.
Yesterday I forgot to take some thing out of the freezer for dinner. since it's only myslef and my oldest it was simply easier for us to pick up chinese than go home, defrost, cook and then clean.

I couldn't tell you the last time I either ordered in or went and picked up something.....years and years and years. If I had found myself in that situation, it would have been to opt for comfort food (which for me is Malt-o-meal) or just fix a sandwich or maybe have breakfast for dinner.

But, being retired and disabled, I am on a really tight budget. I try not to spend more than $200 a month at the grocery store (which includes everything--not just food.)

To me ordering pizza and not making dinner is being lazy. We never ever use delivery.

DD recently had her birthday party at a local hotel. I obviously used delivery for the pizza . DD thought it was the coolest thing. DH is way too cheap, oops I mean frugal to pay a delivery charge and tip on top of the pizza price.

There is no good delivery pizza near enough to tempt me to drive for it. Good Chinese on the other hand is 1/4 mile away. No delivery; I phone in the order, wait 5 minutes, drive over and it's waiting for me.
