Elevators on the Dream?

Hi there Disers. This is my first post on the DCL boards
I'm thinking of switching it up and going on my first Disney Cruise in June!!

I have a dear friend who does NOT do elevators without kicking and screaming. Will we be able to get around the Disney Dream without going into an elevator? She doesn't mind the extra walking or the stairs.

There are a lot of people who specifically avoid elevators on cruise ships so they can indulge a bit more at dinner!

Everywhere there are elevators, there are stairs. There are also stairs where there aren't elevators.

I think this is doable but you may want to take a good look at the deck plan and try to choose a specific room or at least floor to try to have easy access to the things that are important to you. My DH is a stairs guy- fitness and a general aversion to both crowds and waiting. We booked on deck 5 on fantasy so that we were close to the kids clubs and shorter walk to the restaurants and theaters- figured this is where we'd likely be doing more oft he back and forth to our room. We'll likely try to make one or two longer trips up on deck (morning, afternoon) and bring a pack with us to avoid running up and down TOO much. But in the evenings with changing for dinner, carrying little girls who may be tired at night, etc the short hike then was more important.

if you're really on top of things, you may also want to consider position on ships if there's a specific staircase that will be most useful to you so that you're not walking down as many long hallways in addition to climbing stairs. I know there are a few places where you can't wank all the way down the length of the boat ( but not where they are specifically)

And like the PP said, you may just be able to tell yourselves that stairs = snacks
