Disney did not charge a fee to exchange money. It was whatever was the going rate.

Every time I've flown home from Europe, there has been an airline employee onboard collecting leftover foreign coins for UNICEF - or a similar organization.

Yes, we called our bank and had them increase the daily withdrawal amount before we left. We book a quite a few private tours on our trips which had to be paid in cash so we needed a lot of Euro.

They mean on the ship.

I give another vote to using an ATM. I used my debit card just let my bank know ahead of time what I was planning to do. They refunded me any fees the atm charged and it was that easy! I actually had a few euros left over from my last trip, so I arrived with like 20E and just waiting until our first stop (malta) to find an atm. There was a small bank just up the road from the port.

I also second the Capitol One card. No foreign transaction fees. I tried to use it more than cash just to keep it simple plus you will get the best rate for the day if using your CC.

I also exchanged a little on the ship and it was not a good exchange but they will change back at the same rate, which was nice.

This would be our problem too. I don't want to get there and assume I can easily tap MAC and then not be able to.

Has anyone gotten this? The AAA Visa TravelMoney Card

It's supposed to work like a debit/credit card except you pre-load it and it's not linked to bank accounts back home. I like knowing if I lose it, it can be replaced and my mortgage will still get paid.
